I just want to ask people with experience 2 questions. My first is strategy-wise and the second theme-wise;

1) When using a formation of spectres with a wraith in to ATD spirit walk snipe with magic, is it better to use 1 company of spectres or 2 or 3?

2) Theme-wise, which of the following make good allies for Angmar: Cave Drake, Stone Giant, Spider Queen, Shelob, Gothmog, Spiders.

1 - I would say more companies is better. A single company with a wraith in it is going to be a VERY tempting target and at Def 4 even mediocre archer is likely to inflict the 4 casualties needed to remove the entire formation. Even a single Strength from Corruption has a fair chance to kill them all off.

2 - Theme wise, the Stone Giant, Spider Queen and giant Spiders are, I think, fairly strong. Cave Drake and Shelob kinda middle ground, and Gothmog not so much. (A super strong orc leader like Gothmog, in my view, comes across more as a general of a vast army rather than a leader of a warband in the wasteland of a long dead kingdom, even if you do rename him to be your own character.

Yeah, one Company of anything that's not Indomitable is a very dangerous place to put any Epics. All they need to do is get it down to half and it's gone. I think 3 Companies of Infantry is a good minimum for important Formations. Yeah, this is hard for metal models but use some proxies as you build up to it.

1. I never play with formations of less as 3 companies, so I would advise that
2.you can make gothmog your own character as said before, the same for shelob, and you can use spiders with their queen.

Firstly, about the spectres, I see that 1c is probably too fragile, would 2 companies with the Shadow Lord allied in be ok since a)it's harder for archers and SfC than 1 comp b) they're rediclously high points value and c) I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the magic snping technique, but even casting WoT, 3 comps seem to be a bit impracticle for this Spirit Walk AtD maneovre. (P.s. for cost of buying, it'll be ok because I intend to convert some plastic Mordor Orcs and Warriors of the Last Alliance)
