hi, i want to read the books about morgoth, which books do i need? (ive already got the silmarillion) , is it the children of hurin or the fall of gondolin?

The fall of Gondolon is a short book that's part of the History of Middle-earth, I doubt you'll fing Morgoth in that since Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs led the attack on the elven fortress for him. He does appear breifly in the Children of Hurin, but it is more about Hurin, his two youngest children and Glaurang, father of the Dragons who was sent by him. In short, the Silmarillion is where most of the Morgoth-related material is.

In the 'History of Middle-earth' series (a series of 13 books) there are a few with Morgoth in I believe, the main one being Morgoth's Ring. However these books are just Christopher Tolkein piecing J.R.R Tolkeins notes together so that they make a bit of sence and they can be a tough read at first glance.

Grab a copy of Book of Lost Tales, vol.s 1 & 2. They're much earlier versions of Silmarillion, and can do a lot to help you understand the comings and goings of the First Dark Lord.

Although Morgoth is not mentioned loads in Children of Hurin what is in there about him is good reading. There's also a bestiary of Tolkein characters by David Day that makes reference to him on a few pages, probably not as informative as the books theOneRider has suggested though.

I have the David DFAy book too and it os good if you still need it after all this time.

Its a cool book to dip in and out of now and again. Strange though, I looked up Morgoth in the bestiary and there's no reference for him in the principal index. It seems he's only mentioned because of his influence on certain events and characters, but nothing major about him in there. I thought there would have been more, him being the original dark lord and all.
