I think I'll test out the textured paint and see how it goes. But I won't be able to get some for a while.

After seeing the price of textured paint I have decided to use option 2 so I bought some Polyfilla to use

lol how much? It's easy enough though, just slap it on, leave for 5, dab it and paint. You could try mixing it with the black paint so there are less steps.. not sure if that would work, worth a try though?

About £15 but that's for around 5l I think but I dot need that much. It's pretty steep for me anyway :P
I'll certainly try mixing with paint but it may make it too thin and increase the drying time. But I need to experiment a lot.

Well here are some Dunlendings I have been doing recently, including Thrydran. Just before they went out of production I ordered 9 wildmen, 3 with shields and a Son of Eorl to make a mounted chieftain. I also have 5 WoR to convert.

Anyway, pictures:

C&C welcome,

I like your Dunledings, especially the colour of the cloaks and shields. They look very good.
By the way when I checked earlier, you could still by wildmen and dunledings, I would of thought that if you can still get them in England, you would be able to get them in Scotland too.

Thank you very much.

I thought they had gone out of production, so I bought as many as I could with the money I had. Ah well thank you for the info 8)

These look great Cyndra 8) I really like the way you have done the leather and armour. Maybe Thrydran's wolf cloak could have more contrast (eg different colours for the face/nose etc rather than grey all over? - just an idea). I picked up a bunch of wildmen and dunledings via ebay recently. Now in the cupboard joining the hoardes of unpainted!

Did some terrain work based of the fort in 'The Eagle' and Drumtastic's one as well. The palisade isn't glued in yet:

Looks promising! One problem, though...the barbarians go on the outside of the walls!

Don't be silly. Dunledings are the rightful residents of Rohan, who were unjustly scoured from their homes.

Haha, we seem to have a fair amount of Rohan versus Dunland/Isengard rivalry going on here.

But we Dunlendings are the rightful owners of the plains, but meddling bearded wizards stop our plan to retake our home. Anyway, some wildmen will be done next, but I'm away to Newcastle for the weekend and then off to New York after that :D so progress will be slow :(

Haha, that's why my mum is there to help  I hope to have it completed for when my mate comes up in August and we play 3 straight days of LotR :D
But it's going to be difficult finding time to do it and finish the boards that I have been procrastinating about for ages, ah well

I don't know if you've seen this video but I think it's useful; with this method textured paint can still be an option.

Textured paint!

Keep up the good work! 8)
