Long time since I posted anything on the site, pictures or otherwise (to much WoW the last 3 years) but I'm back in to the hobby. And I decided to build me an Amon Hen table to do some games on in the local GW-shop. Using some things from LOTR-scenery builder's site, here is what I've come up with so far:

These are 3 out of 4 table's, the 4th one will include Parth Galen. Measurements for each table piece are 2'x2' (60cmx60cm). I should have more picture's of these table's finished by the end of the week.

yep. Like I said, I used the guidelines from lotr scenery builder's site to build them. Amon hen itself is an old kit from Antenociti's workshop that I had sitting unopened in my hobbyroom for about 3 years. The griffin Statues came from ebob. The argonath statues are 100% mdf board and scratch build. The parth Galen part I currently working is mdf too.

That board looks awesome! Very well done!
Love the Argonath! I hope to make them some day aswell! I love the Weta-statues, but they are way too small...
Nice job on the water aswell, looks fantastic!

All together, this board is eye-candy! The Argonath and the Amon Hen seat both in one board! Fantastic!

EDIT: Local GW-shop? Which one? Where?

And euh, welcome back btw :D

I am using Hirst blocks for Parth Galen but I was basing it on LOTR-scenery builder's site as well. I like what you have done so far. I am looking forward to more photos.
The Argonath is outstanding. Did you use power tools or do it by hand?

mostly used a dremel and a some hobbyknife's to build them, and a lot of patience.

Being nice weather today I took the picture's of the board as they are now, enjoy:

The tree's come from conrad.be (165 trees for only 50€) as does almost al the other stuff like grass, sand, etc. The water was done paining it first with a layer of waterdown pva mixed with green and blue ink (from gw). After that dried up 10 layers of gloss varnish where applied.

I hope to finish the last boardpiece in 2 weeks, going to be used for a game (or 2  ) in the store in the easter holiday's. Finished the rough build today, still drying up. Then it's painting, putting the sand on and painting again and then the grass and trees and I'll finally be done with it and I can move on to the next project, either MT or helmsdeep.

Stairs, towers, gates… I’m having dejà-vus all the time, these days… but I haven’t seen somebody building an Argonath before – up to now. You sure did a great job on them, Barduck!

:yay: Adrian

Updates:
Parth Galen finished in mdf and integrated on to the 4th part of the table:

The 4th board painted grey:

And after spending an all-nighter on it, here it is with sand, grass and trees added:

I still need to do some work on it but it's like 80% finished. Still needed to do: some moss on the rocks, long grass, dry-brushing the trees roots.

Here is the complete table (all 4 parts) with the fellowship moving about. Also a scale comparison of aragorn with an argonath:

All in all the completed table didn'nt come cheap, the total price off all materials (wood, glue, paint, trees, grass, sand, etc etc) runs up to about 500€ and it took me nearly 3 months to build it (at about 2h a day)

Very nice I have not even finished my custom stair mold. Very good work. I think it is very dramatic to add the Argonath to the table with Amon Hen. You have given me some very good ideas. Outstanding table :yay:
