I primed mine black last lat night. Yours looks good so far. I can't wait to see how the next step turns out.

done a little more work on the birch ent...
The basic greening is done so far... now time to add some more brown again, and some highlights of greyish-greenish-brownishes...

That looks good. I think I am going to regret using darker colors on mine.

Looks fantastic so far, almost looks like you've sculpted it because of the green stuff ehe. Keep up the progress!

After more then a month, I've picked up this one again!
Since my Theoden for the March competition is nearly finished (only the base to go), I will try to stay focussed again on the other stuff I have in progress :) (which is hard since I feel like starting 5 other projects aswell... how typical)

Here's the Majestic Bear's Birch Ent again, only 1 step after the last picture.
Used a wash of watered down Calthan Brown this time, to add more brown to the mini again.
Lots more to go, but I like the combination of the green and brown so far :)

Thanks Dave :)
I can't wait to start Badabbing the Black though, I liked it more before the last two highlights but I'm sure he'll look better again after applying the inks (had that with Treebeard aswell) ... and then there's still the details such as the eyes, the leaves and the veign that will contrast with the bark... aswell as a lighter green kinda moss on his left leg.

Here's a link to the reference I'm using...

Finished the Badab Black inking...
Just like with Treebeard, the light of my "daylight" bulb makes it look a bit different from what it looks in real...

sweet! He looks a ton better now, not that he was bad before, but just that he looks even better! I really can't wait to see this one finished! :yay:

Thanks :)
Badab Black really is something I couldn't miss anymore! What a wonderfull ink!

Hope to work on him again tonight.
I'm gonna add a tiny little few more of those green moss-effects, I like it too much how it contrasts on this one!

Nice. :yay: So what's next on your list after this one's finished? Another ent, or something different entirely :?:

Nearing the final part... :)

Next on my list... hmmm... probably more Ents and.. something completely different aswell.
In fact I have so many projects I would like to start... such as a diorama, some small figures (mounted Aragorn from the Warg-attack box, mounted white Gandalf, ...) and probably one of the things I'll do first: some awesome dead guys... and many more things I've been dreaming about doing soon :)

The eyes have brought him to life. Nice contrasting colors on the bark.
