Eheh :) it was only an idea so far. So i still gotta work it out later. :) Haven't started on that yet :). I Just had to think about that product wich u had to rub over a napkin or something and the ink of the napkin would leave markings on the object u did on... Have no clue anymore how it worked so long ago...

Well here is a fig i finished yesterday evening :)
Image
2numenor left 9 elven warriors - bats and sculpt :)

Also had this idea of sculpting markers on the underside of a base. Might be interssting for objective games. Making that u have to search something on the field hidden on the bottom of these bases. U only can find out what's beneath it, by running into base contact. Then u can turn over the base and see what's beneath it. :)

Looking great! Nice to see some different colourcombinations for these warriors!

Perhaps the technique you were thinking of is with the use of thinner on a rag. You will have to mirror your text though before you print it...
I remember as a kid (long time ago...) we did this as an activity on a rainy summerscamp day...
We took pages out of magazines, put them with the photo you liked on a white piece of paper, and then rub a rag drenched in thinner over the back of the magazine-photo... The photo was kinda printed on the piece of white paper... (I remember I choose a publicity-photo of women's underwear, lol).

Ty, :)
And yes i think that is the technique i remembered. I think i once did it with napkins on glass and a map on paper.

If you try it, just make sure you try the thinner (or any other solvent) on a spare base first... you never know the product interacts with the plastics... (like aceton). Although I don't think (most) thinner(s) would cause any damage on the plastic...

It appears i have no thinner at home so i can't try it out. And i just tought of that gluing on .. i am starting to think that might be stupid as well. Because paper might change colour when getting older. And the ink might dissapear... If i am not wrong mostly paper has some kind of acid...

Todays painting :)
Image
One more of those guys to go.
Built a small ladder to for the fort and started painting up the gate. I feel tired lol
some of my work i have gone trough so far lol - liked the tought of showing what's keeping of for some part of the miniatures :)
Image
I also will tune my lava/cave troll his head up a bit. I made it in one time. I had no experience with greenstuff either when i putted that on. I think the basic shape is there but now it's just cutting of some bits and adding some stuff at the right places. Like those horrible teeth. Dunno why i didn't let it dry first :-D

Little progress on the troll
Image
There should be pictures of his earlyr face in my wip somewhere...
I think this is some great improvement. Still needs to get better tough :) .
I am glad i didn't just chopped of that head. It forms a great basic for transfroming it into something better.

The numenor are painted up. Now 8 elves of the last alliance remain to be painted.
I placed a seeker in paper saying that i was looking for mini's from lotr - GW. A guy answered and told me that he would sent me galadriel with mirror and gimli the dwarf. He also told me that he would rap them in carefully so that they wouldn't get damaged. I recieved a quite big medicin box in an enveloppe this morning. It felt quite light. And suprise suprise what was in it.
Image
Lol glad i only have to pay his sendings cost. But i don't think they would have been damaged ... There is just nothing to break on those figures.
I guess i can overpaint them as statues... Kinda dissapointment. Luckely for me two other more serious fella's answered my call. I wonder where these fig's are from.. Mc Donald , Quick or kindersuprise

I did some research :-D

:-D That troll now looks like it got a stroke, but that's not a problem at all. It looks really good. And also, that statue looks very good!

Those statues are very nice actually, i like them.
You have captured the snarling expression on the cave troll very well but the piggy nose puts me off. If your going for a film version take a look at this pic: http://images.wikia.com/lotr/images/5/59/Cavetroll.jpg
Not too keen on the ears, maybe put them flatter against the skull. But great GS stuff work otherwise 8)

You've really improved in the past few months.
I really like what you did with galadriel.
There are a few points on the numenorians and elves that might need your attention.
The faces haven't got enough colour, try a wash with dwarf flesh and maybe even a light wash with scorched brown.
You seem to use a lot of ink, this is just my opinion but when it comes to inks I believe in less is more.
And try to make the highlight more fluently, you most certainly can do that because your freehand is amazing.

The cavetroll is quite good but for me it doesn't have a lotr feel atm.
Maybe try to bring the eyes deeper into the skull?
And I agree with what cyndra said.

But your skill both with the brush and with the scalpel are improving very well.

Ty guys :)

I only got one wash so far. I am kinda low on money (like always lol - it feels like it's only getting worse :) ) Still i am intending to buy some more (second handed) figures... Might be better to do some saving tough. I hope i can get my hands on them - still am waiting till the exams of the owners are over. So we can make a deal.
(If we get to a deal i might get a witchking - lurtz - berserker - some of those siege guys - uhm maybe more not sure... - it all depends on the prize and stuff...)

The cave troll is a bit my own way and not the movies one (I like to use my own fantasy - I do not like to copy things.) I like him with big ears :-D . So srry if i miss out the lotr feeling :) At least i like this head better then the previous one. I am glad i cut some pieces off. (I sculpt with a needle instead of a scalpel. It works great ;) ).

U are right about the ink... specially on those elves - The armour got to dark - it looks like they have fought several wars like this. I ll give it some more attention on the remaining 8. I am interested in testing out some of those other washes. But i kinda fear of buying to much paints... For now i rather have figures  (Also hoping to sculpt some more in the (maybe far)future :) ).

You have improved the cape a lot.
Perhaps make it a bit dirty and worn?
And I think that making the skin a bit darker might help to blend everthing in a bit better.
