Hey all,

I saw today that you can buy the Dol Amroth command as its own blister now, as opposed to foot and mounted miniatures.

Sorry if this has already been posted, I have missed alot of things in my absence.

thanks

Nice find, obviously most players won't need the mounted versions anymore as they'll use the plastic ones.

I still don't see the point of a Dol Amroth banner for SBG though, why not take Imrahil?

Good find, i saw it a while back, but just presumed everybody knew. Captains pose is a bit like the Minas Tirith one. Not the best command ever, and again not sure why you would take a banner when you could have Imrahil, unless it was a very small point game.

Good find indeed and much better news than that of Tolkien possibly being a sexist. :x

The sculpt of the captain is fine, but that Banner Bearer is god awful! Proportions are all over the place, and that has to be the most uninspiring pose ever ><

The captain looks great.
The banner bearer aint so good. I agree with what other people said. Un enspiring pose and the guy is out of proportion.

I'm pretty sure this set has been out for a while though.

Coneheads yet again - awful rubbish.

It is almost a crime that the best of Gondor are rendered so inadequately. very annoying, and it is not as if we have not made our views clear to GW for years (most of us hate the coneheads). :-X

These aren't new models though. They are just repackaged now that you can make a mounted captain and standard using the new plastic boxed set.

They have been available as captain foot and mounted and standard foot and mounted for a long time.

Yeah, I was just thinking that if I was planning to use them, I would have to bore those down and rebuild the their helmets from the ground up. You'd think that GW would do something about revising the metals when they improved the plastics - I don't think it would be that hard to do.

looks like its under the new releases in the May White dwarf too, which obvio had not noticed.

As for the sculpts, the captain is nicer than the banner bearer. I just see them a bit pointless, because more often than not if i have enough points for elites, I would rather go for more WoMT or knights of dol amroth mounted, not on foot. Obviously this doesn't apply for SBG, as you need foot models anyway...

still, nice to see GW playing around with different selling ideas. Plenty more please GW.

There are mounted banner carriers now in the new release, so it's kinda obvious that they are selling them apart.

Perhaps there will be a metal mounted captain and banner carrier released.

Esthetic purposes. I'd buy one when I start a DA force. (pikemen in plastic first!) Better an option too much than one too few.

Imrahil can´t be everywhere on the battlefield.
And the banner looks nice :)

No, but a 12in radius is quite a lot of the battlefield.

Or you could just do a simple head swap with the helmets from the plasitc SKoDA if you have any spares. 8)
