Your Ent looks great...the more I see done of this model, the more I think he is pretty decent piece and will enjoy doing one myself some day.

Love the photo of the whole lot...great stuff!! :yay:

Brilliant Ent! It looks fantastic in the pics, so I can only imagine how cool it looks in person and on the tabletop. 8)

Thanks again for all the supportive comments; I was a little nervous about going with the silver-birch idea so am glad you like it.

I've just given his eyes an extra highlight which you can see here:

I'm now torn between adding more troops to this army or starting a fresh Mordor force...

Happy hobbying!

I like the rangers, and you've managed to make the rolled-up-paper Ent look very good. Great work, bravo. 8)

Thanks Cpt. Ingold and PowerofWill. I looked at some pictures of silver birch trees on the web and was inspired by the colors in photos like this:

I love your colour sheme! Especially for the Rangers and the Ent loooks fantastic! Good on you to go for a different colour scheme, i know it takes some guts. Keep up the good work.

Also in response to your question, i think your Gondor army looks great but have you thought have adding a unit of Fountain or Citadel Guards? They would add some more elites to the army, and I am sure they look great in your colour scheme. Its up to you though, as i know getting a company ful of blisters is an expensive task.

Thanks Highlordell for the complements and suggestions.

I've just had a look at the Fountain and Citidal Guards and I think they're handsome figures for sure; I especially like the Citidal Guard models. A formation of just 2 companies would set me back £48 though (ouch!) so may have to wait until my next pay rise :?

Mark.

The Ent goes really well with the rest of the Gondor army. I also like the blue colour scheme.

I've got my own Gondor army, which is now ready to be painted. I've been having trouble deciding what colours to use for the skin and armour, could you please tell me what paints you used?

Thank you King and General Elessar.

So sorry for the late reply; having moved house a couple of weeks ago i've only just got my broadband up and running... anyway...

The armour was drybrushed layers of Boltgun Metal - Chainamail - Mithril Silver with watered-down washes of Badab Black inbetween.

The skin was just Tallarn Flesh followed with watered-down Devlan Mud then a final highlight of Tallarn Flesh mixed with some skull white (or possibly a light grey).

Hey sorastro, i really like the look of this army! It reminds me of my own army themed on The region of Morthond in Gondor and, in particular Blackroot Vale. So i especially like the look of your rangers.

Would you mind sharing which colours you used for that look ?
