I know this was announced a few days ago, but since I didn't see any threads dedicated to it, I thought I'd bring it up.

I really like the new ruins of Osgilliath:

They look thicker than the other ruins and seem to have a bit more variety. I particularly like the stairs. Plastic scenery like this is a great addition to the game and I hope they come out with more and more stuff like this.

Yep, I've preordered 2 boxes and am thinking it would be a good challenge to build my own to fit in. I wish GW did more terrain stuff.

Well most people could sculpture it on their own, but its so tires some, and takes so much effort and time

I love the new ruins and intend on purchasing one eventually. Not really sure about the need for a new thread to discuss them though, they've been talked of quite a bit in the other threads....

I really like these and will almost definitly purchase some down the road.

Well,I play rohan,and easterlings.
so it does'nt really have too much of a need for my board.

I do intend to buy at least one though. perhaps i can
use the dimensions of it to make a rohan themed one.

still this thing is a big improvement over the other terrain kit that is being offered.

it's quite funny, but the walls are 0,1" thick, i prefer half inch walls. and the box contains only very little ruins. if u wanna buy something, then buy some hirst arts malds. i prefer foam to build!

They do look very nice, thick walls (compared to the original ones) and look to build quite a nice size, maybe 10" x 10"? Not a bad price either!

Rohan used to be the northern province of Gondor. We don't see it in the movies, but I bet there's a few old Gondor/Numenor era ruins here and there in the Land of the Horselords.

Furthermore, Gondor's empire once stretched to the Carnen River (which leads to the Sea of Rhun) so I bet you could find Gondorian looking ruins from the entire swathe of your gaming area - across Rohan, on either side of the Anduin, through the Brown Lands and up into the plains adjacent to the East Bight of Mirkwood. I can imagine Easterling towns founded on the ruins of a Gondorian fort, with a few old skeletal walls beyond the new town palisade.

So yeah, I think you can use them

(Though I'd love a longhouse too!)

Isengard was a Numenorian fortress. I believe Helm's Deep was as well.

I thought Orthank was made by the elves and was all but invincible which is why it wasn't wrecked when the ents came.

no spuds4ever orthanc was made by the numenoreans, i believe aragorn or gandalf of someone like that said it in the lotr books, anyway, the tower itself is made by some sort of tough rock.. plus i don't think elves would find that tower very beutiful, hehehe...

the new ruins do look like some very nice scenery. i also agree with Blue Dragon I think that some tower would go very nice with this

I think it was carved out of a single rock. The walls around the lowest layer of Minas Tirith were made the same way.
