Thanks. I understand what you mean. I have done more fletches on my Orc tracker arrows and they look lots better than these ones. Once I finish painting them I'll get some pics up.

Here is the cloth nearly all done on Saruman.

I assure you that the pictures here don't do the model justice

You seem to have done a nice job on the cloth. If I had to be picky I would like to have seen 2-3 more stages of highlight to create a smoother blend between the colours.

However, you seem to be developing your talent nicely and you are showing distinct improvements.

Can I say though you seem to be one of the most prolific painters / modellers I've seen. Evertime I log on you seem to be onto something different.

Keep up the good work

Thanks :)

I have heaps of new projects because I have a heap of incomplete/unstarted models because During the school year I can barely do any modelling and the holidays is the main chance I get. So I am trying to do as much as I can while there is time!

I still have many a project up my sleeve yet to be revealed.

With your comment about the "stages of highlight to create a smoother blend between the colours". I totally understand. I was thinking that myself actually whilst painting it. But I learn through experience with mistakes and constructive critisism.

Anyway, heres something else I hope to make a start on in the early future.

Its Grishnahk whom I have stripped of his (very old and not so nicely done) paint job and have converted him to a pose that I prefer to his previous arm above head pose.

Comments are very welcome.

Simple conversion but it suits the miniature very well, nice work! :yay:

Grishnahk's pose is great but the strips on the arm are a little to big if they are supposed to be muscle. Great work on Sauruman. The colours look nice, I'll be waiting to see the final product. Best of luck in the paint off.

It looks more like clothing to me.

You painted the white very well. :yay:
imo that on it's own is worth a lot.

And grishnakh is a simple but effective conversion.

Here is a small update on what I've been doing. You will see some progress on the Feral Uruk hai and the Berserker's. I have nearly completed their armour. You will also see some tents I am making.
This Update is mainly to test the new camera I got for Christmas. :D

Here are pics of my haradrim army and other stuff which have been "work in progress" for quite a while.

Here are the uruks

and here are the tents I have made. It tells you how to make them in the Pelenor fields source book. I am also making some Haradrim tents.

I hope you like them. Hopefully I can get my Saruman finished by the 31st which is when the paint off finishes.

Nice pictures! It appears the new camera is a good one! 8)

I like the long tents, but the Gondorian ones look a little small IMO. I don't think a man could comfortably lie down in one. Maybe make 'em a little wider? :)

Metallics on the Uruks look great!

Thanks!

The Gondorian tents are supposed to be bigger. When I photocopied the prototypes from the book, it said to do it at 125% but only did it at 100% (accidently). Its too late now to fix it but the tents will be suffice for now.

The pictures are really nice. Sauraman looks a lot better, you did a very good job on him. The berserkers and feral urukai are coming along nicely as well, the fletching looks very good especially for such a small detail. I've always been very impressed by your conversions and the haradrim look nice, any idea on when we might get to see them done?
The tents look very good. The gondorian tents look great, sometimes soldiers have to sleep in very cramped conditions (I think I had less room at night during ROTC then a godorian would have in those).

Thankyou for your kind words. :)

And about those Haradrim. I am going to be pushed for time as soon as the new year starts but I'll try and get a move on with them. Unfortunatly you probs won't see them done for a little while but I'll be working on them soon.

I have finished Sarumans skin and hair today.

Here he is.

Image

Image

And here is Grishnahk. I have only just started his skin.

Image

I have also just started the skin on my mob of uruks. I want their skin to be dark like we see in the movies.

Image

And last but not least is one of the haradrim tents I am working on. There are four in total and I am now ready to paint them.

Image

I hope you like'em :)

You've done a really nice job of the face, I always struggle with flesh so the job you've done is really impressive. Once more, the colours on the cloak are really good, you've done an excellent job at working in the shadows. The darker flesh colours on the uruk hai also look good. I can't wait to see them finished. I would suggest a fairly heavy wash of delven mud on the armour to give it a more dirty and rusted appearance.

Thanks!

For the uruk's metalic parts, I'll be stippling various brownish colours on parts of them and using red and brown inks to create grease, grime and gore effects!

Here's something new for this thread.
Me and my brother descovered that we have not nearly enough tree's to properly cover our battle fields. We decided to get some.
We managed to get 25 trees from a hobby shop that are not only cheaper than 10 GW trees but also look 10x more realistic!

They are a German brand. The packs we got come with bare branched tree's in which you bend the branches to the angles you want. You then glue some easy to attach meshy foliage to the branches (with glue of course)

I have not yet begun the glueing process but it will happen soon.

Here are some pics.

One of the packs with a few of the tree's.
Image

One tree with its branches bent to shape.
Image

I've also nearly finished Saruman but he will only be shown once he is entirely finished.

Cheers!
