Between one codes and another I finished Rangers (great alternative to civil law :D )

Finished after a week or so ? (longer than I expected), now can be found on eBay (UK).

Top stuff! I spotted them on ebay just as I looked at this thread. Good luck with the auction. The only thing I find strange about these rangers is the bright green of the tabard bit (the crotchguard thing :) ) looks unnatural, though the rest looks perfect. 8)

Yeah I know it's a bit over-realistic but i just love that colour combination :D PLus I thought it would be nice to break some of that brownish colour scheme with something lighter ;)

Even more WoMT...i just lost count on how many of those it'll be :D No I've got around 20-30 + commanders (and that will probably be the end of them:D )

Looking better all right, the monotony has been broken up as regards the plain ol' lava flow. A question I must ask you Wiktor, do you wet blend? It looks like you do, but just to hear it from you... :)

Well, I'm gonna burst your bubble (a bit).

I've been thinking it over for a while, and I have reached the following conclusion.

I don't like it.

It's good, no doubt about that, but it just doesn't appeal to me personally.

I think that, alongside Mac and Bart, you guys, whilst all being talented painters, use what I'll term a 'European style' for want of a better moniker. And I'm not including the UK in that.

I'm a fan of bold, cartoonish minis, and there is obviously something you guys are doing, when painting minis more naturally, that gives them a rather 'washed out' look.

So yeah, it's good but I'm not keen on it.

@DarkWind - I don't wet blend, it's too messy imo ;) Instead I spend tons of time with multiply thin layers (or even thinner :D) gives nice effect :) Plus If you place highlights apropriete you can trick attention from lack of wet-blend ;)

@Gaarew- yep I know what you mean. I get that a lote to be honest, It's quite normal that some gamers and painter like more candylike painting with high contrast and warm colours and some like more realistic. It's funny matter for me for sure, cause when i worekd with WW2 1/35 models I always tried to achieve that realistic battle worn effect, which can be done with minis but I don't mknow... just suits me better without that ;)

The lava's looking better, 8) though as you already know I'm with John on this one. It looks good, but personally I'm not a fan of it.
