Hello there again. After Month or so ;)

During Christmas and after New year I found some spare time to finish first part of my Wood Elf army. 11 Haldir's Elves so far but still 20 Archers and 12 Spearman to come plus 24 Plastic ones ;)

I don't know what happened to my camera I'll check all setting and maybe clean the lense ;) Sorry fot that grainy quality.

Anyway Feel free to criticise. Some pics are a bit dark (the back ones) but you can figure colour from others ;) I tried to experiment with some contrast painting. Unfortunately I don't know when I'm going to paint all this because I'm starting my exam session now and until the end of January i'm swamped with it (If I pass all exams in 1 take ;) )

The pics are quite bad... Anyway, from what I can see - I like the colour scheme, it is slightly different than the "official" one.

Generally, it is a nicely painted, cohesive unit. Keep it up ;)

Your elves look great,i really like the blue and green you use in your colour schemes,it really makes the models stand out from GW boring scheme.

Hey Haldir! Great progress your making with these guys! As Viruk said, the quality of the photos is under-par, but in this case I don't really see it being a problem as the shots were taken well enough to show most of the detail. I hope your still looking towards painting the rest of those armoured lads, I burnt out completely after I finished like 6 of them haha.

I really like the modifications of the colour scheme, those bone-coloured handles actually look really good, and the high-elf-esque armour plating goes really well with the hue that you've chosen for the cloak.

Good luck with your exams!

John

Wow, those elves look really good all together. The Faramirs Rangers look excellent and the base is really good for them. I really like your Minas Tirith Diorama... in fact I really like everything that I have seen so far on this thread  . My favourite is the robes on that Saruman earlier on  . A really good thread with really nice WIP pics! My overall comment is, Those Faces are really Good! Keep up the good work

Very well painted - and the faces are done too - neat eyes (always an awkward spot). I am going to aim for the film version when painting my horde rather than making any colour scheme changes.

I think they look great, and the cloaks especially are done to the highest standard. Didn't see the green first time lol, but i agree it is very fitting when considering their ancestry and their habitat, leaves etc :D

keep up the great work

I love Gamling's face, not a huge fan of the dirt but the rest of the cape is amazing. The face kind of reminds me of a 3D one like in the Beowulf movie, very cool.

Woot I can't believe I Haven't posted anything in more than 3 months here :D

Anyway here's what I was working. A Display Base for my WE army. Justa basic one because I was mainly making an article about that for beginner level.

Still without minis 'cause I have only 11 painted :D yet :D I'll finish 21 plastic WE this week and there's still another 40 plastics and about 40 Haldir's Elves waiting to ged done :D

Anyway , here's what it is:

I like 'em!

The first swords"elf" looks like he has an arrogant smirk on his face...srt of like "come on orcs...come a wee bit closer...I'm not that dangerous..."...then...

Looks really great though!

LoL, wolfy, only you could come up with something like that ;) .

Wow! I love these! I like it how you've painted them as Lorien elves, not Mirkwood. The Mirkwood scheme looks a bit crappy, IMO, although it does suit the location very well. But, as I was saying, I'd much prefer these lighter greens, although I'm not sure about bone bows: have you experimented with darker brown? (Not that I'm telling you you should, I'm just wondering how they'd turn out.) Very nice overall, and I can't wait to see everything done up and put on that base.

rock on

doopy 8)

Very nice mate, glad to see you're still chuffing away at that army :) Those elves are looking great! Exceptional blending on the flesh areas as well, I'm still having issues with trying to pick out all the details on their ruddy faces.
