I thought it would be cool to have some sort of map for OR members - to pinpoint exactly where people live.

Basically (most of you probably know yourselves) you click on join and just follow the process - in the shout out box it would probably be helpful if you listed your nearest GW and other details.

It would also help if people used their OR usernames as opposed to their real names so we know who people are.

If this is a bad idea then lock it or something. I remember something similar on TLA a while back but I don't know what became of that.

I think I see how it works - but then again I don't. I had to 'approve' you zeph and then somebody called Wiktor Kowalczuk in the middle of the sea.

Then your shout out thing appeared under my name!?

EDIT: By Jove, I think I've got it! I think that to see your name appear I need to click on 'update' - Wictor has disappeared and zeph has now appeared. Its a shame I can't move the pin right to where my house is (I can see it) but the pins point to roughly the correct area. It doesn't seem to recognise my full address.

sorry about that, it's just that when a name appears in the middle of the ocean, OR awards entries don't exactly pop into my mind. I'm also pretty sure that the spelling on the map is different to that in the entry.

Just to let you all know - in addition to the well-known OR population Thread, I'm working (for a few months allready!) on a system somehow like that, custom made and for our community only. Difficult and hard work but I hope to finish it some day (still need lots of help as well, pah!)

But while we wait for that stupid thing to come - excellent find/idea!

It's listing some of you as 'visitors' Haldir and zephire are working, but the others aren't showing names. Perhaps you have to become a 'member' of the site before you can put you names and pictures etc.

i think i broke it

i for some reason have 2 locations one in halmerend (no pic one) and one in a field (which if i'm not mistaken i'm not in a field)

i cant delete or move them so whoever verifies it can you delete the non pic one please
