I am clearing some brush and small trees from the edge of my yard that foxes like to use to ambush our chickens. Yesterday I purchased an ax and naturally thought to name it Gimli. However, my son had a better idea; he said to name it after Gimli's ax. So, did Gimli name his weapon of choice, and what is it if he did?

Ah, but which axe? In the films he had two throwing axes on his belt for use as a distance weapon; a hand axe for day to day uses, a long handle axe which he used as a walking staff and as his primary attacking weapon and in Balin's tomb he found a dual bladed axe which he used afterwards. I don't think he named any of his axes, but you could always refer to your axe as Gimli's, as in son, could you go get me Gimli's and he would know to get your axe :-D

Well, I always assumed his larger axe. I was given the idea of Baruk Khazad. It was Gimli's warcry meaning "Axes of the Dwarves." And I named it yesterday.
