I'm already giving different color variations. This is how i'm using GW's existing elven miniatures to represent the three Houses of the sons of Finwe.

Finarfin's house: GW's Mirkwood elves
Fingolfin's house: GW's Lothlorien and Galahdhrim models
Feanors house: GW's Rivendell and LA elves

The reason I am searching for other models that fit well with GW's style is because I really want to field the houses of Gondolin as well. That is the issue.

With that being said, I just got some Last Sword miniatures. Here is a few comparison pictures.






So, these guys are 32mm. You can definetely tell they are taller than the GW mini's. They still have a "Warhammer" feel to them tho.

Alright, so w/ grad school and all, painting has been at a minimum. Maybe 15 mins here and there. Anyways, been working on Celegorm's house.

I think your metals are probably beyond improvement. I cannot even imagine metal looking any better. Do the colours fade all the way from black to white?

almost, just to make sure that contrast is met to make it look that much more metallic.

Just finished this shield for the next miniature in line.

I feel like I say this everytime, but your nmm is fantastic! Really beautifully done. I do feel like the silver on the shield could use one or two more highlights though.
Also, Caranthir is just beautiful. I really love the red, it almost looks velvety. Would you mind telling me what model that is as well? Thanks

Really like the freehand on the shield, Feanor! The NMM is excellent as well. Really high quality work here and I look forward to seeing more of this project
