So.. uhm. I guess I am back at the painting table? It's been a while... :gandalf: Fortunately I'm not as rusty with the brush as I feared. But we will see. There are many minis waiting for me!

I, for one, will say that I am impressed. I like the freehand additions. They add a lot of character.

Looking good! How are you going to base them?

Thank you!
I'm not sure yet... thought about a swampy/wet look with water effect.. but I've never worked with water effect stuff, so I guess I will see..

They look very good, especially the dead white eyes.

There is a not-quite-as-good but simple alternative: just apply multiple layers of krazy glue to the base. If you sculpt some GS bumps and mounds on the base and paint them as desired, the glue gives a pretty good glossy water-like appearance.

They are done!
As for the water: I found glossy acrylic varnish in a hobby store, which turned out to be great for water effects!

These are very different in style from your kings of old. Did you enjoy painting something darker? I really like the wet effect; that was a clever idea.

Thank you both for your kind words!
And yes, I enjoyed it very much to paint those dark fellas :D

And no, for something completely different (again)
I've got a whole bunch off my painting table in the last weeks and am glad, that I did so ^^
Hope you like these guys too, though not all bases are finished yet.

Nice uruk-hai! I love the cloaks on the hobbits. What colours are those?

Did you do highlights in green to make it appear like the ringsraiths' swords glow?

Amazing work!
I particularly like the murky water affects on the wraiths.

Thanks a lot you two! I'm glad that you like these.
The hobbit cloaks are Castellan Green (toned down with black and lightened up with Ushabti Bone respectively)
And yeah, I like to break up the plain dark ringwraiths with an ill and eerie green glow from the Morgul blades. Gives them a nice touch imho.

The glow on the wraiths looks so natural that I had to ask if it was actually painted that way. I think that is a pretty good judgement. Really really good! The left one in particular is amazing.

Fresh off the painting table. Especially the banner-bearer on foot is a great model imho.

Nice work! I like the additional structure you gave the banner. The yellow and red look good as well, the colors really make the banner stand out, as it should.

I very much like the inclusion of red and yellow on the banner! Makes a cool heraldic vibe.
Your painting is super neat all over. Keep it up! :yay:
