Love the Dol Amroth, exceptional work. Regarding the citadel guard, I like the scheme but, (despite me not being qualified to offer worthwhile painting advice) it could maybe do with a little more white to tie in more with the Dol Amroth. Not sure where though, possibly the inside of the cloak or inner tunic?

Thanks YOrcShire :)

I agree with your comment about the lack of white in the colour scheme, but there is some method to my madness, which I've not really explained so far.
As Dol Amroth is so limited in troops, I've decided to borrow troops from other factions to build my army... so, for archers I've picked Citadel Guards, but I'll also be adding to my forces some Minas Tirith troops too.

So, this colour scheme is intended to be complementary rather than identical. Hope that makes sense... if not I hope it will all become clear when you see my finished army :D

in the meantime, here is the finished colour test archer. What do you folks think?

I like it. Though, the eyes are off in my opinion. They seem to be below your normal standard. (I understand eyes can sometimes be re-done 6 times and never look right, and eventually you just give up....)

Do you think so? I must admit eyes for me are still pretty hit and miss.
On this particular mini the cast was dreadful for the face and the eyes were a total mess so I had to just make them up....
You're dead right about them having been done 5 or 6 times though, so they're as good as I can get them

Hopefully I'll improve the more of these I do

That is a great color scheme to go with your DA knights.

Looking great.

Congratulations! I actually think the Knights of Dol Amroth are better, though. I also think the freehand banner turned out really well.

GreatKhanArtist, I agree with you. I think my painting has improved since I painted my mumak and I know I could certainly paint the crew a lot better now. It's taken GW a year to get round to printing my picture... so who knows, they may use some of my new stuff in the future

Either way, I'm really happy they chose to print any of my work... shows I'm doing something right... 8)
