These to be honest are some of my favorite pieces Ive ever seen anyone do. I just love them. The style choice and work.

I may have missed it somewhere in this topic, but do you have stat lines for these guys?

Thanks guys,

I've only used them in 'mass battle' games so far and we use the KOW rules from Mantic for that. For skirmish games I'd probably use standard Dwarf stats and just twist them slightly and perhaps borrow a hero from the evil lists to cover them.

Superb work. I love that tiger-stripe pelt in particular.

I've never seen any minis from this range painted up before, they look great, so kudos to you and MotN for creating them.

Thanks Raukov, the sculpts were so easy to paint so again kudos to MOTN. Hopefully I'll have some more to paint up in the New Year at some point (though I just picked up some minis to use as more Black Numenoreans so you'll be seeing those soon).

That army-shot is a joy to behold! They are, as you say, amazing sculpts but they have been painted to a fantastic standard as well. Great work, both to you and MOTN! :yay:

Thanks Mr. Took

Well it's been quite a while since I posted any WIP pictures here so I thought I'd start the New Year with some new pictures.
These will be the start of my new Black Numenorean forces, I know they won't be to everyone's taste but they fit the bill for me (heck they even use an eye as there iconography):

This is only a selection of each miniature as I have enough to create a regiment of each for our mass battle games.
Next we come to the subject of Smaug and to cut a long story short he was too expensive for me for the use I'd get out of him (plus not having anywhere to store him was another thing) so not wanting to be without a lovely large dragon I went on a search and found this lovely lady:

Image

Not only is Dragonslayer one of my favourite films but Vermithrax will do very nicely as a Smaug fill in and I got her for a fraction of the cost of Smaug.
Here she is all laid out and then with the Mouth of Sauron on her base to get a better sense of scale:

On the terrain side we have a Rohan village which Amy has put togther:

and the set of hills and woods we picked up, something we've been sorely lacking:

Lastly they'll hopefully be another addition here soon as MOTN has started on some more Fallen Dwarf sculpts :D

That's it for now but you can also keep track of all my projects, non-lotr included, on my own little blog (http://cruciumgiger.blogspot.co.uk/) and as always comments and criticism welcome.

That's a pretty massive dragon you've got, how does he scale up versus the GW smaug? Also, he looks like a pretty good replacement (for the film version) as he keeps the two wings two legs thing going. I look forward to seeing some progress on smaug, and more MOTN stuff.

What manufacturer makes those alternative Black Numenoreans? I am always interested in alternative minis for my ever ongoing First Age project....

Not actually that sure but as soon as it starts coming together I'll put pictures up.

Wargames Foundry, the Godless from the Gods of Battle range. Not all packs are up on the website but if you give them a call/email it will most likely be Martin you speak to who will be able to sort you out (very helpful chap).

That base is the size of a small battle field!

Well I have to be honest and say they still sat on the shelf, I've been busy painted up miniatures for the Batman Miniatures Game along with buying/selling a house so I had precious little hobby time of late.
Never fear though, once I'm moved (fingers crossed) I'm hoping to make a start on these, well once I painted up Terminator and AvP!
