OK, I thought I'd paint something else for a bit.... as a little break from Haradrim.
Strictly speaking I should start a new project thread, but nevermind.

As my rest from Haradrim I've decided to paint up some Dol Amroth knights.
I think the sculpts are ace, so I hope I can do them justice.

Quick WIP of my first test run mini :)

Sikano, I did this by layering up from a leadbelcher base through Ironbreaker to Runefang steel using nuln oil to add additional shading and help with blending along the way. It's around 6 layers in all I think.

Looks good so far. The face really stands out amongst all the armour.

the armor is brilliant.

As Gandalf the Grey mentioned, I think you should use a bluish color to glaze into the recesses. It'll create a nice blueish hue, which complements the dol amroth color schemes.

Hey, Dol Amroth is looking good. Should be an easy task after painting Harad.

BTW - to change the topic name, just edit the first post of the thread and change the subject line. Do it before making your update to the WIP and then it will be bumped with the new post and new thread title without making a whole new one and losing all this thread work to the void of the many pages beyond. The question is in the FAQ Forum, which I hope gets bumped someday cause I am sick of seeing the old "any girl painters and suchlike" thread on top cause it has a desperate nerd feel to it and I don't know what suchlike is but I assume it is people who are not male yet maybe not female either...like trolls or orcs maybe. lol.

I've also been playing around with a new basing scheme for my Dol Amroth knights (seeing as desert sand isn't really appropriate)

Still needs flock etc but I'm pretty happy with this I think

It's a nice base. Include some vegetation and It will be perfect. I would suggest something colorful to accompany the bright blue on the horse.

Loving your models, they have a distinguished feeling which is something to achieve for everyone!

Thanks Argish... It will have vegetation for sure... in fact I've just bought some nice new static grass and tufts just for these bases.
Watch this space :-D

I liked the Abrakhan models. The blue was nice, and I like how they tie in with the standard colour scheme.

Thanks GKA :)

I decided to make the blue the colour of the king and thereby show this by them all wearing the King's sash as a sign of their service.
I'm really glad you picked up on that.
I should really do a group pic of all my Harad troops so far, now I think about it
