Always nice to see a different slant on figures and I enjoy what you have done with these.

Greetings and Season Wishes to everyone!
It was a bit difficult to find my thread.
Due to a health problem (I hope it's left behind permanently) I couldn't paint for a few months, but slowly I'm getting back.
I can assure you, I got rusty.
These were partly painted back in April '14 (6 of them) and the rest (Amdur and the other 6) in December. They were destined to be sold and since they did, I can shamelessly upload them now.
Not greatly painted, but a nice bunch of minis nonetheless, when shown all together.
I thought, I had some WiP shots of them, but I must have erased them. Anyway, I had uploaded them on GBHL's FB page a few weeks ago.
Here they are, hastily photographed all together, not with the usual standard of other photoshoots and a bit out of focus, because I had to pack them that day.

I have to paint now my 6 plastic Kataphrakts, heroes...
Aaaarghhhh... No more gold...

Simply stunning paint jobs all round (I've just looked at the last couple of pages of your WIP, the Trolls and Rohirrim Commanders in particular are very nice.

Happy new year George, it's been a while since the last time we met, I wish you the best with your health to even not think about it again!

Your gold is characteristic and awesome as always, you honored once more your love for those models. The red you used has been opened until the final highlight with white right? They are not warm I think, so it could be difficult, I have a similar issue these days. It becomes pink-ish and then highlights on a strange pink very close to white which is not always the best result. I mean it doesn't seem so smooth the highlight, though you made nicely yours, well done!

Muchos gracias guys :-D . Health is overlooked sometimes, but it's the most precious thing we got. Hold on to it!

Thanks guys. I collect almost everything, some in big numbers, some not.
The army that always left me most indifferent is Moria Goblins.
It was sad to see the trolls go, Gothmog, I loved them.

Thanks Ilias for your appreciation once more, but no, I usually don't highlight red/reddish clothes/surfaces with white, it becomes more ppink than red and it doesn't satisfy me. I prefer using Desert Yellow or whatever its name is nowadays for things like Easterlings' clothes.

Having been super involved in this hobby in just over a year you are definitely one of my favorite painters. If i was a rich man id ask you to commission a lot of stuff for me. Nice work.

thanks mate.
Working on many things simultaneously these days.
Still trying to get in shape, as I have to finish a Young Thorin model for a very patient client. (thanks Manolis 8) )
One of the small projects are 6 Abrakhan guards.
Hopefully they'll be finished tommorrow.

Well, having painted close to that many easterlings myself, I know exactly how you feel on the gold. I couldn't wait to finish them.
The traditional scheme is looking great. I too always prefer orange over pink on reds...unless pink is what I am going for but that doesn't happen in LOTR often if at all.
The Flab'rakhan guards look great (always wondered if weight is a factor in applying for the position... "sorry lad, you are too thin, back to Mumak duty with ya"). Since I have yet to paint most of my Harad collection, I will enjoy seeing how those turn out.

The easterlings and guards look fantastic. The easterling force in particular is very impressive.

They're done, I should photograph them soon.
Sith, of course they get interviewed by a committee and if they are promising candidates but of not adequate weight, they have a second chance.
It's job that one gets with the right CV and a good photo. :-D

In the meanwhile, I have almost finished the first batch og Goblin town goblin warriors.
Great models.

The fact that I had to dig until the 4th page for my WiP, shows only one thing. One thing that makes me very happy. That there are so many talented, but most importantly, devoted hobby lovers all around the planet, who ensure that this "little" system won't give in or fade easily.

I have next in line, a Young Thorin model. I had posted some pics of it earlier in January on GBHL's FB page. I hated its guts, but after finishing it, I can honestly say that although I find its pose weird, I really love it.
So, this week, most probably, I'll order mine, as well.

P.S. Once again, thanks Manolis for being so patient with me.

And a diorama-like pic of Thorin leading to battle some of his vanguard.
