Well I have never done any of these challenges and I feel as if this was a bad one to try to start as there are so many fantastic models on here already and I would rate myself as a beginner. Too bad I have been busting my butt all day to get him done while listening to GBHL speak friend and questions that I was 5 weeks behind on... Well here is a second Radagast to add to the mix. This is the first model I have started doing with more to the basing then just sand and GW grass. Let me know what you all think.

I like the old Radagast better than the new one, I painted the bird as more of a hawk/eagle rather than a crow because I think Radagast is awesome and I feel the hobbit movies made him seem too strange and not the powerful wizard he is.

I hope you all enjoy, I know I did. Thanks in advance.

Here's my entry. Let's see if I can win one of these finally.

This one was a lot of fun to paint, i tried to pay extra attention to the blending, especially on the armor. I was going to do some more freehand, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I was also going to do a larger base, but I ran out of time.
Good luck all!

I'm trying to get back into the Hobby, so my painting probably won't win but that doesn't matter. I figured what better place to start than one of my first heroes, so I can compare how far I've come since the beginning!

WOW! This month's challenge has been as swamped with entries as last month's was bereft - great stuff!

There's so many great entries already and no way I'm going to even compete this month but I'll enter anyway. I give you my Beorn in bear form, very happy with how he turned out but I couldn't manage to get decent photos of him and there's just not enough going on with the paint job to have a chance in a competition with quality as high as this one. Still, he was good fun to paint and it's great to finally have the beast on the table, massive thanks to Kev for the Vomit Brown highlighting tip - worked a treat!

Good luck all, some truly staggering entries present!

That's a great looking Bear Dr G.

I'm almost done with my entry so hope to get it in on time! Not that it will win but it's one more off my backlog!

And here he is finished, Théoden king!

I have to say I'm very happy with this. My Devlan Mud eyesight made this a challenge and I think he is one of my best results.

Having said that the other entries are stunning and I'm just happy to be part of the fun!

Some great looking entries so far.
I've just taken a proof picture of Gandalf the White, and will upload it with the finished product if/when I finish in time. Luckily, NZ time is 11hrs ahead of GMT, so I've got until 11am Aug 1 my time (it's 12:30am on the 31st for me now)

Just to prove that I did complete mine, here's a quick snap from my phone. I'll grab a camera in the morning and hopefully get some proper pictures up before the deadline.

Finished with only hours to spare (it's 4:21am Aug 1 NZT for me, but I'm 11hours ahead of GMT).

In the 30-something hours since I decided to enter, I've had to sleep and eat and paint and watch glue dry on the base.

I chose to paint Gandalf the White because Gandalf is the big mastermind behind the forces of Good, and I specified the White because he was White when all his plans saw fruition.

Some slightly better pictures taken from a camera instead of a phone

And compared to one of my first ever metal models

Was a bit rusty but he turned out okay in the end.
