Some really nice sculpts you have there, Son of Fundin!

Also thanks for the link on Der Skirmisher. It is certainly worth looking even for non-German speakers 8)

*I know, there was something, wasn't it? Ah, yes, my WiP Thread... :-D *

Thank you for your nice comment Pabook! We are actually working on a bilangual blog, but there is still much to do.

Here ist the miniature I used for the next article of the Skirmisher, more pictures will follow, when issue 2 is published!

In issue 2 there will also be an interview with Bob from eBob miniatures and much more cool stuff. As it's only in German we are still looking for a translator! Help would be awesome!

It is viking berserker, inspired by the german translation of SAGA. (I'll probably enter him in the S&C challenge.) When I finished him, I thought, he looked like GW's description of Thrydan, so here is my version of him:

C&C as always very welcome!

Best wishes,
Bennet

An exceptional sculpt, full of life and character, very very well done.
If I had a slight critique it would be the right thigh. I appreciate the figure will be wearing some trousers but I would like to see a little detail around the knee.
You have to make a mold of this, I want one and I'm happy to pay.

Hi guys,

thank you so much for all the lovely comments! 8)

@Gandlaf: I will definetely cast it, I just need much more miniatures to fill the mould... And your critique was very good, I made a whole in the tigh and are much happier with him now. Thank you!

Issue 2 of the Skirmisher was published yesterday so here are the promised (bad) pictures:

Image

I know it is just one picture, but more can be found on the website of the Skirmisher!

We are still looking for some translators, is there nobody? We have already planned to do the website in English and German, but we can't manage to translate our articles as well. We would be very happy about any help! Thanks!

C&C again welcome!

Best wishes,
Bennet

This is some of the best sculpting and converting I have ever seen. Those Skirmisher magazines are great too.

I was wondering, what are you using to cast your miniatures? The results are very crisp and I was wondering if the product you were using was easily available somewhere?

I look forward to seeing more!

Thank you both very much!

@abcdefg: I am sorry for the misunderstanding, you're not the first one, but the grey looking miniatures are no casts. I just thought I'd make the pictures black and white to better see the details.

Right now I am in touch with two casters, one for white metal miniatures and one for resin miniatures (not "Fine"cast resin, more like Forgeworld's).
For the white metal miniatures I would have to sculpt much more miniatures (in total about 16) to fill a mould or make master casts which will then go into a production mould.
The resin caster is able to do single miniature moulds, so I could start directly. There are no moulding costs when I take more than 25 casts. The problem is that the price per cast is as high as the one I would to sell white metal miniatures for...

So what do you guys think? Which option would you take? I'd be very happy to hear some opinions... 8)

Cheers,
Bennet

The resin cast sounds fine to me as to get enough figures for the metal seems a long way away.

Fabulous sculpt - very appropriate for Middle-earth and also as the TV series Vikings would be home to guys like this :)

Thank you very much for your opinions!

@Gandlaf: The problem is, that the resin casts cost 2 pounds per piece. My aim was to sell my metal miniatures for about 1,5-2 pounds each... :( I could make about 5 berserkers in total, cast these in a master mould and use these masters for a production mould. This way the spinning costs would be lower and the mould would be good filled. I only needed enough buyers to pay the moulding costs...

@Dorthonion: Thank you very much! 8) I think my next berserker will look like Rognarr's brother (forgot the name right now...) in the fight at the beginning of season two. I don't watch TV but watched some clips of the series, quite interesting IMO.

Other opinions on the casting material would be very nice! :)

The final choice is obviously yours but at only £2 ish for this figure then I'm a definite.
