Welcome to the Bi-monthly Sculpting and Converting challenge. This time the subject matter will fall under....

Anything you like!

Image

In this challenge you have several options to take part:
- Sculpt from scratch (starting with or without armature/metal wire/...)
- Convert an existing miniature (to a new or another character or race/region, to change it's situation, rank, pose, wargear, ...)
You may sculpt/convert more than one character should you choose to do so but please bear in mind only 4 finished pictures can be submit for the vote.
Only one entry per person per challenge. So choose carefully!

2. To enter the Sculpting & Converting Challenge, the miniature you are converting must not be converted nor painted before starting and picture proof must be shown of the miniature 'pre-converted'.
Re-converting an already converted miniature is NOT allowed!!
When sculpting from scratch, you must picture proof this with your blank armature/metal wire/... aswell as a work-in-progress-picture as valid proof.
All "proof-pictures" MUST either have the announcement-screen of the running challenge in it's background, or contain a small note with the announced theme and date written on.

3. You may join the Sculpting & Converting Challenge in progress at any time, but must submit photographs of your completed work by midnight GMT of MAY 31ST 2014 . WIP images are welcomed and encouraged.
You are allowed to use any sort of sculpting epoxy, aswell as scratchbuild materials (such as metal wire, plasticard, rivets, chains, ...).
You are allowed to use parts from other miniatures (such as weapons, heads, banners, arms, horses, ...).
Your final work must stay UNPAINTED and ideally contain 4 pictures; showing FRONT, BACK, LEFT and RIGHT side.

4. Miniatures that are completed in time will be eligible to win the challenge. The challenge winner will be decided by the vote of the OR community. The community will choose one winner and one runner-up from the completed sculpts/conversions. Votes should be cast not simply on sculpting skill, but on merit, including creativity, application of techniques, artist improvement, originality etc. There is no prize available for the winners of this challenge, the challenge is solely for community participation and as an incentive for people to improve their sculpting skills and to encourage creativity onto their shelves.

5. Winners from the previous month are able to participate in the next Sculpting & Converting Challenge, but they are not eligible to win in consecutive challenges.

Is it possible to use same model as entry to both competitions?

Morbag, just give something a go - this way we can help with feedback for things which might take a long time to pick up. I'll try and get something done if I can get the time, and I am not the best so don't let that bother you.

WIP OF KING OF THE DEAD, 1 image is of a mounted king the other shows an extended king of the dead, ie I attached the lower half of his torso which was removed to make mounted model onto a second model to make a much bigger version. My first ever conversions and first use of greenstuff

This is a link to the many images detailing my conversion process as proof that it is my own work. Making the larger king of the dead happened purely by accident as I had a left over section of his body. I hate wasting materials and thought hmmm what would the lower body of the king of the dead look good on, the only answer was on another king of the dead model. The horse he is on is actually Snowmane. I created an intersesting back story, whereby the king of the dead seizes the spirit of Snowmane after he has been killed on pellenor fields.
