Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.

With regards to Legolas' eyes - yes i deliberated for some time as to what to do with his eyebrows and after a conversation with BillFerny333 and looking at various pictures of Legolas on google I decided to go with the Legolas movie look which was dark eyebrows. I think with the model being on quite a high base it hasn't helped the effect much lol.

Thanks again.

I have to admit that I was waiting anxiously to see how you did yours so I could look over mine and see how to tweak it, yet you played the shading pretty subtle on the face yourself. So I am still kind of at a loss unless you have some close up shots I can see to help me out. I had trouble with the less angular features of this plastic face sculpt.
I do like the pattern work you did on the green cloth to break it up and make your version stand out in the sea of legolas clones. Not a fan of the mud, only because the Legolas I envision is too agile to get muddy (lol). The effect is painted well so that is all that matters in the end.
Great work man.

Cheers Sithious, I didn't take any close up pics of him unfortunately but have cropped one of the pics to try and narrow down the face if that helps. Had real problems photographing these two models and I'm not sure why, Light conditions have been a bit strange of late - very very white sky so pics all seem a little over exposed. Still no matter. Hope this helps.

Strangely enough Legolas looks fine on the cropped picture of his face, maybe a shadow was just darkening his eyes more than they actually are.

I felt quite uninspired by the sculpt too and in effect just painted it by numbers to get it done. I think it is because I had already painted the Majestic Bear version (which I must prefer). I have the other GW Beorn and Bear to get through pretty soon and like the pose more than this one.

Thanks for the comment James. How is the commission painting going?

It's going ok. I haven't had much yet but I'm partnered with MiniWargaming to get my name out there more. I'm also working to prepare a YouTube channel to get more traffic.
so my total thus far is the Ferals for the GBHL and some Tyranids for MWG

A good job on a rather bland miniature, I always felt he should have the shirt on as per the film.

That would certainly help, or just be in an action pose. To be honest the sculpt looks like he's kinda lackadaisical. Which is out of place no matter what he's doing holding that axe lol

Great work as usual, DMS! I agree that this pose doesn't really intrigue me or excite me in any way. I also agree with Crucium that he should be wearing his shirt and have the iron band on his wrist. I know this was produced before his design was finalized, but I really think those additions would spice the mini up a lot!
