OK peeps, with only two weeks left until the current challenge ends, its time to start thinking about what you want to do next. I'm driving this bus now and things are going to be a little different. We will be working through the current LotR sourcebooks one at a time, starting with the Fallen Realms. All you need to do is select which faction you want your subject matter to fall under.
E.g. if you fancy having a go at some Corsair Reavers then select Umbar. If you want to try making a Blue Wizard then obviously don't choose Isengard! (If anything other than Isengard wins, I'll allow blue wizards.)

FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTE COUNTING, RHUN WILL BE PAIRED WITH KHAND (as kingdoms of the East) AND HARAD PAIRED WITH UMBAR (as kingdoms of the South)

Once the faction is decided, what you do will be at your own discretion. Having a theme rather than a specific mini will hopefully encourage individual creativity. Other members are of course welcome to throw in suggestions to assist any cases of sculptor's block!

I'm not yet saying who I voted for but I would encourage people to go for something obscure. I am somewhat fatigued of painting Hobbit miniatures (as much as I love them!), and fancy going old school!

Just a reminder that this is for the bimonthly sculpt/conversion challenge, not the monthly paint challenge.

I would prefer Isengard not to win, just to see something a bit different for a change. But Isengard is a popular force so I'm not surprised it is currently leading.

Sh, UKFB, influencing the vote, are we? It's an outrage! :-D

My vote is for Isengard, because that might give the courage to actually do something... I've got half an Uruk somewhere in my bits box, IRC. Don't hold your breath, though...

Hey I was tempted to leave it off the poll altogether but I suspected there may be an uprising :)

What exactly are the rules for what you can enter? Is it just one figure or can it be a few? As one little converted uruk wouldn't be too impressive by itself

You can submit one miniature or more if you wish, but remember you can only submit 4 photos in total of your final entry to be judged. For full rules please see the current challenge in progress.

The poll is a bit skewed towards Isengard I think - the Eastern races are fairly similar in the way I imagine/understand them in LOTR world. For example, I would group Rhun and Khand together and Harad with Umbar - obviously they are separate, but not so distinctly to me as Gondor and Rohan are. What I am trying to say is that while they are different races and separate in the sourcebooks, they still are 4 fairly similar/frequently used together races so its dividing votes between 4 in my view.

I would really like to see what people can come up with for Rhun...

You make a good point. That's a bit like me splitting elves into rivendell, mirkwood and lothlorien. I cant change the poll now as many have already voted, but what i will do is count Rhun & Khand together as Kingdoms of the East, and Harad & Umbar together as Kindoms of the South once the poll ends. So effectly there will be only 3 possible outcomes. Isengard, East or South.

If the poll goes in the inevitable Isengard direction I shall start work on converting a mounted Grima Wormtongue, I could however do with some more Corsair Reavers and am yet to do anything more than a basic weapon swap with Rhun as most of my models are fairly compactly cast metals,

Then we'll have a further short poll with just two options. If its still tied after that I'll flip a coin.

You could fight a duel between two heroes from the opposing factions?

I went for Harad as I fancy adding to my current 1 Hasharin army... and I also fancy practicing some cloth techniques.

There is no minimum skill level to join... Its a competition for fun and improvement. Why not give it a go? Better to get C&C than not...

Vote for Rhun - I have 4 figures that I want to convert into various projects. This could give me some additional motivation to work on my backlog.

I voted for Rhun because I still have quite a few Easterlings left, and have yet to enter one of these challenges. I also just like Easterlings :)
