Arrgh... Was working on one of Feanor's sons today...
Made my armature, took a pic, coated it with fimo, put it in the oven to let the fimo set and started the detailing with a mixture of fimo and green stuff afterwards...

Everything went pretty well up to this point, when I decided to put the green in the oven again to speed things up... When I took it out, the gs and the fimo had reacted in some strange way and the miniature looked like the marshmallow man from ghostbusters...

Let's start again from scratch...

EDIT: Here I go again... (background: The Pile of Fail)

Can't wait to see how this goes I'm a fan of Silmarillion, so many great characters in the book.

A WIP pic. Sorry the picture is a bit bad as it was taken on my iPod. I'll tke any important pictures on my camera though.

Just saying, this is my first ever proper conversion using green stuff, not counting the tiny experimental ones I'm about to post on my wip thread.

For more info, see my WIP thread

Thanks,

The head, hands and feet aren't doing what I want so they might have to be removed. Also, I have the wrong size wire - either too stiff or soft - annoying.

Edit: This is my first pic here - can someone please give me tips if there is anything that would be good to change - size, dimensions etc..

Pretty awesome theme indeed! And I've seen some cool starts on conversions and sculpts.
I hope I can join, not sure with what though: so many possibilities! :)

Well here's my shot at it, don't expect much since it's my first time. I don't know what I am thinking doing this but I like Silmarillion and that's what prompted me to go out and buy some sculpting tools and material. Now only if I can get through my final exams and still find time to sculpt! This will be Curufin that I am trying to make, or at the very least a swamp thing...

I only have the lower body completed on mine. I started too late and have other distractions at the sametime. Pretty sweet eagle though, nice detail on the feathers.

Nice eagle man!
Unfortunately real life stuff got in the way for a very long time so I wasn't able to do much on my Beleg. I'm supposed to be doing a mini for a FB paint comp too but have only just been able to start. Pretty disappointed as it was a good theme and motivator. You win i guess! :)
