Great job with the highlighting on Saruman Sid. I've never sen the model shaded with blue before and its really effective. I would go with a dark coloured horse to contrast the white on Saruman. Black or very dark brown maybe. Maybe even give the horse some white socks to tie it all in. Great job so far mate.

Thats a little different from the norm, and I do like it although IMO the blue is perhaps a bit too dominant. Keep the blue shading but perhaps increase the amount of white somehow? I suggest a dark brown or even black for the horse to contrast with the rider nicely.

Thanks Dave! :D

I've given him a touch more white on the highlights and i will do his inner robes a more pure white so hopefully that will help make him Saruman the white instead of Saruman the blue. I have chosen to go with black for the horse to make him look slightly more monotone.

I'm not a fan of the blue tint, but my, you've really done a good job here Sid. The water effect on the base is fab, and you've captured Saruman's personality brilliantly in his eyes.

Well done :)

Very nice painting. If you could darken his boots though, he wouldn't look barefoot to me. :-D

The face looks great though the blue shading isn't to my taste but you have done a wonderful job with it.

Fantastic work Sid.
One small point: Saruman (as played by Christopher Lee) has dark eyebrows - they add to the air of menace. For example: http://www.framecaplib.com/lotrlib/html ... tt0101.htm
Now I am not recommending that you try to emulate this on your version - there is the risk of ruining it so DON'T! But for myself and all the other Middle-earthlings, please bear this image in mind when it comes to painting your Saruman(s).
Great base too, Sid!

Hi Sid,

My PJ isn't a lot of cop in this old article I did, but the fire colouring bit might be helpful to you.
