The first photo is actually quite good, it's sharp and in focus and there is plenty of light to see all your details. Maybe next time put a white paper behind the mini to make sure there are no distractions to the eye in the background? I think it may also help autofocus cameras to better guess where to focus.

Very nice painting, by the way. :)

But ye i know it might help - i am just so lazy when it comes to pictures :-)

I'm not so great with photos either but I think using natural light and no flash gives good results. Nice legolas btw, some lovely little details.

garmenhord, brilliant Legolas! This is your best work yet and shows clear improvement from your previous works. Lovely touch adding a bow string.

hey guys,

unfortunately I won't be able to paint my legolas up.

The reason is that, I am really sick of these Games Workshop metal miniatures.

After several cycles of sanding, and using milliput juice on the cloak to smooth it, the cloak is not smooth enough for my liking.

Sooo, ya, sorry guys, but hopefully, i'll be getting into some finecast models for my competition and showcase models.

Anyway, thanks guys

When I'm gonna paint a mini for a competition, I really want the cloak to be as smooth as possible, so I can get the best blending results as possible.

Whatever, I'm still gonna concentrate on painting my NMM, :DDD

Here's my Haldir. I do have several Legolas minis (what's the plural of 'Legolas'......Legoli, maybe?) but one is painted already, so Haldir it is. Plus I just really like this mini and I'm looking forward to painting him.

Incidentally, if you see this post first and think "who on middle earth is this guy? he must be new around here", I've posted a quick hello and introduction elsewhere on the site :)

Looks great Legolas. You might benefit from some larger images in the voting but it's up to you.

Ahhh, don't think that way. It's all about participation and personal progress. I think you had a great entry last month! :)
