For your information, I had to present my Senior Project on Tuesday this week. In order to present a project, you must have a finished one. See where I'm going with this? For those that don't know, Helm's Deep was my Senior project. (High school senior, not college

If not......

Helm's Deep is FINISHED!!!!

It's not to the level of painting or modeling that I wanted, but it had to be finished for the presentation. That doesn't stop me from adding more paint to where I'm happy with it and add essential details that were left out due to lack of time. (2 towers were left off the inner walls to compensate for time). Plus, I still need to finish, or rather start the Deeping Wall half of the table! :shock:

And paint the defenders. And paint 10,000 Uruk-hai! :shock:

We'll see how far I get on that part of things.

So, to start off, Here are the pictures for my March Painting Challenge entry, Grimbold and his Helmingas. Also, there is my finished Eowyn, the sculpt that I love the most of her and a comparison of colours to Grimbold to see how well they blend in with regular Rohan colours. Voting has ended but I'll still show them.

And now, here's a picture of the last update I gave you guys. Then I'll just show the progression till the finished (partly anyway) project!

Notice the causeway. I've since changed that...

I got really busy at this point so I forgot to take pictures for a while.

Wow! speaking of progress! great work, really looks great! Keep it up - i wish i had a helms deep like that, just don't see where to store it :-D

and seems like lots of work to.

Awesome stuff. I like the work on the rock behind, I probably wouldn't get on too well with that if I was doing it. Can't wait for the pics of the finished keep and no doubt the deeping wall will have an equally good finish to it.

Cool project. Regarding Eowyn I would think about another haircolour (=golden as in the book), it seems too grey to me, but maybe that is just me.

Thanks everyone.

I'll finish posting photos hopefully tonight. By myself, I can lift one side easily. But that's about it. It's quite difficult carrying a 4'x4' board with all the added weight on it by your self. The one reason I made the tower removable is so it'll fit easier through doors. It takes time but it fits almost smoothly. I need to somehow keep the dirt and flock from falling off but for now, I don't need to move it anywhere.

About Eowyn, I think it's the lighting that made the hair greyish. But then again... :roll:

I glued the front gates on with a hot glue gun the other day and am currently gluing on small rectangles for the bricks. Yeah, I know I should have done this before the painting, but I needed something to present so I could graduate.

Here, I decided to add some of my interpretation to the project. I added this level to the keep so archers can shoot out of the arches.
A later project is to add the throne room (?) behind here where Theoden rides out, with stairs leading up to this level.

And that's it. Don't have pictures of the installed gate or the stone work, but I'll get those as time goes on.
Hope you enjoy! Now I need to set up all my models on it to see how it looks.

Yeah. My dad and my mentor helped me paint it in order to have something presentable for the next day. It was all painted and given terrain the night before, so, if I did it myself, I'd still be working on it. :-D
