I made my vote a couple of days ago. Everybody did brilliantly and it took me a while to make a decision, but eventually I decided to vote for Wiktors' Arwen.

@General Elessar - The expression on Elronds' face is brilliant. It really looks like he is shouting commands to his warriors.

@Chris - Unfortunately your picture doesn't allow me to see much of the detail, but from what I can see it is clearly a well painted figure. The lighting on the sword stands out in particular as well done.

@DMS - Is there anything I can say about this entry that others haven't already pointed out? Great job on this one mate, everything has been painted perfectly and the base is brilliant too. The freehand script on the bottom of the cloak is a great touch.

@Bizzare Warstar - Even though your entry isn't elligible for voting due to winning last months challenge, I still can't miss this one out. The face, armour, cloak etc. is all perfect. You've really captured the look of Haldir from the films.

@WayUnderTheMountain - An effective conversion and nicely executed too. The only thing I would suggest with this one is filling in the gaps on the bottom of the base where the rail didn't quite cover it up. It just makes the mini look unfinished in my opinion. Also the arrow is quite large, but that's just another minor problem. Other than that great work especially on the cloak.

@BilboOfTheWhiteTower - I love the bright colours you've given this one. It's nice to see you paint a brightly coloured mini, a lot of the stuff I've seen of yours has a dark/dirtier theme with dark bases and dark grass. There's nothing wrong with that of course because I love all your minis, but the brightly coloured Glorfindel really shows the diversity of your painting talents. Lovely conversion too.

@Minimal Monkey Saddle - Another faultless mini you've painted. The NMM on it is fantastic, I only wish I could paint NMM even 1/10th as good as you are able to. Great highlighting all round and I like the base too.

@Bartelomeus - I think you captured the look of Elrond from the film perfectly. The expression on his face is so life like and the highlighting on the cloak is spot on. Great painting on the armour too.

@PowerofWill - I really like the way you've painted his skin and the battle worn looking armour adds to the character of the mini too. Also, great work on the freehand on the cloak.

@Sacrilege83 - When you compare this with other entries of yours from previous challenges you can clearly see you're improving. The face looks really good and the cloak has been painted really well. I also like how you've used an alternative colour scheme, original. I think by added a wash of black (or another darker colour) on the chain mail could help add some depth to it.

@IsleStaggerholm - The white on the horse and the cloak is really well highlighted. White is one of the hardest to get right and yours is definitely spot on. The shading on the cloak is particularly nice. The blue and red parts are nice additions too.

@Ares B - As with Sacrilege, when comparing this entry to some of the miniatures you've entered in previous challenges you can clearly see you're painting skills have improved. The freehand pattern is great and to achieve that much detail on a miniature which is lacking in detail is a great accomplishment. Really well done.

@Haldir_pl - Not only is it great to see you painting again, but this is an absolute beauty of a paint job. The highlighting all round is perfect and the pattern you've managed to achieve on the horse is brilliant. The base is really nice too. It took a while to come to my decision as there were a great number of fantastic entries this month (as always) but it was the pattern on the horse that won it for me in the end. Great job Wiktor, I look forward to seeing you in future challenges.

Thank you Red Corsairs. I appreciate you letting me know what I can improve. What's a good method for filling in the gaps? As for the arrow, its a transplant from a WoMT spearman so perhaps I won't use that method next time. :-D

A very small amount of green stuff would do the job. Then you can just glue some sand or paint over the top of it.

Bit of sticky tape will do to cover the unwanted gap in a base too - pva and sand will glue straight over it :)

With regards to the two front runners, I thought Wiktor's (Haldir) horse was the best, but for me Kev (DMS) had the better rider. In the end, it was the freehand Elvish on Glofindels cloak that clinched it and sent my vote to DMS.

Well done to all who took on the challenge. :yay:
It seems everyone is improving.

That was the factor for me as well. Both DMS and Haldir_pl had amazing entries, and I think I liked the horse and Elf skin tone on Haldir's more, but the Elvish script just had that extra touch of theme and realism that gave it a boost in my eye.

HA, I voted on it for the base. Looks just like he's scaring off a few Nazgul.
