Fireforge's facebook page

Looks like they'll be starting with Teutonic knights, and most likely focussing on medievals. The WIP shots of the Teutonics look pretty good, although I guess some people are up in arms over the helmet ornamentation. There are several undecorated helmets too, though, and in hard plastic it should be easy enough to just trim them off if need be.

I think with the right color scheme they could also make great SKoDA alternatives!

Interesting...I wonder what the scale will be?

Oops, looks like I forgot to mention - they'll be 28mm so they should probably work well with the GW LotR range. Possibly a tad large, but not by so much that you couldn't use them.

mini update:

The company owner posted over on Warseer that the box will make 12 knights, and there are 20 heads total (12 decorated and 8 undecorated) - so at least if you wanted all plain helmets it would be pretty easy to just trim down the horns on 4 and use the remaining 8 standard helmets.

This is awesome, thanks so much for the link. For the past month or so, I've been looking through different medieval miniatures--eBob's Rebellion range in my favorite, but is very limited. I like Perry Brothers' Miniatures, but their Crusades range is...too early. I would prefer if they had a range based on the Third Crusade, with more "iconic" looking European Crusaders, and a more Arabic centered Muslim selection. These Fireforge Games Teutonic Knights, with the other head options, look rather versatile--They could be Teutons, Templars, or generic Christian knights.

I'm kind of removed from purchasing or collecting LotR, and I've been really interested in historical and modern ranges lately. I just haven't made any purchases.

The nice thing about a lot of historical minis, I find anyways, is that they mesh very well with GW's LotR line, so they make great stand-ins, proxies, or home-brewed units for LotR games as well as being usable in historical wargames.
