Looking for player in Gent!

Hi there, at September, Im going to study in Gent as an exchange student for 4 months. I also want to meet with the local wargame society. I will bring 1000-1500 points WOTR Mordor army. Where can I play? Who wants to play with me? :-D

(Im from Hungary, Budapest)

I've played a tournament in Hasselt and there were people from Gent who also had organized a tournament in Gent.

You guys are talking about 'my' club!
I now mostly play in the GW there. Although I must warn you that as in the GW as in the thunderbolts (club), most people (like me) play SBG. Although... You might be able to play at the GW because the manager quits end august, so the new guy may give more support to WoTR, I don't know...

Ooh, I never knew there were still active LOTR-players around in Belgium, especially not around Gent... :-)

Last time I heard about a store in Gent, it went broke... (Lonely Mountain, like 5 years ago or so...)

Is there an official GW-store now over there?

I don't know any rules though... Never got into thouch with the game itself, not WOTR nor SBG... (sadly enough, if I only had 10 times as much spare time as I have now... :pray:

)

If anyone know anybody, who is searching for a flatmate, or had a rent room, please tell me. At 19th Sep. I'm coming to Gent, but I still dont have any place to live for 4 months.
I searched on thousand websites, I sent a lot of mail, but still nothing yet. If you can, please help, I really want to come study and play WOTR of course.

I think there are quite alot people in SBG around Antwerp and Gent.
I did this Tournament in Gent at the start of the hollidays. Well organized - i loved the scenario's.
For some of other reason those clubs always seems so hidden away somwhere, quite annoying sometimes. It's like a hidden society somehow.. There are lots of people - finding them is harder.

@Raggbur: pass on my greetings to Francis. I should get a rematch with him someday. :-D

I hope to join in next year to. (Don't know if u still come to Hermelijntje. Could do another battle sometime if u would like to. Ordered the carrying case - will become handy :-)

There's a gw in Antwerp too, Bart.

And well I would love to play a game sometime, but I prefer my social status as it is. (Let's face it, miniature gaming equals virtually no contact with people of the opposite sex.

)
I still enjoy a private game sometimes, but a trip to GW is a bridge too far for me.

As much as it sounds I think too high of myself, that's not at all what I meant to say.

To stay on topic, I live in Antwerp, but I'll tell you when one of my friends moves to Ghent.:p

i probably will be going to school in Gent this year - Saturdays - Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I noticed that the GW is very close by. If i don't get to much work i might be able to play a game with one of u guys. My lessons in the week start around 6 in the evening i think.

What does it mean Garm? And which is the club? The gw store at St. Niklaasstraat 17a/19?

I think he means that most people do it on saturday. I ll be having classes starting from not this saturday but the next one. I should have gotten that figure case by then (should be arriving one of these days).
The GW store i found (don't know what street it is - but it's close the shopping street.) The tram stops right in front of the store.
