2019 EDIT :

Photo links work. Cannot embed these right now. Back pages have most recent work.

I've decided to start my own WIP thread and want to start by just showing everyone what projects are being worked on/started/or even getting finished up!

Just finished basing my Minas Tirith Spears, the swordsmen was done long ago and is just hanging out...
http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt32 ... 001089.jpg

My Uruk Banner Bearer, basecoated. It is a very top heavy model and quite often falls over. Well it did until I stumbled upon a way to add weight to his base!
http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt32 ... 001090.jpg
http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt32 ... 001092.jpg

I used pliers to smash fishing weights into discs and then super glued them to the bottom!
http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt32 ... 001093.jpg

By using this method on my Cave Troll as well he now stands up fine, this can also be used to simply add weight o the model. I know I like the feel of a heavier model as opposed to a feather-light WoMT.

The board my sister and I play all our games on.

The Hirst Arts tower I just finished. This has been my first experience using Hirst Arts and it was truly very easy! A bit messy during production but well worth all the effort!

Knights of Minas Tirith look great and your board and terrain pieces excellent! Right, I'm off to buy some fishing weights!

Ah great to see you have a WIP going on now! :D Gondor, my favourite army - they're looking good. Just curious, are you going to paint the whites tree's on the shields? The basing is nicely done too. An inspiring idea for the fishing weights, I have the same problem with that annoying new Gondor Command Unit. The banner bearer just takes out the whole squad before I have time to move. :o Terrain is looking fab, my favourite part in this hobby.

Keep it up

Thanks all! And Drum, it's impossible to tell in the photo but the Trees are actually painted Mithril Silver.

I keep wishing this site had a mobile upload option! I'm working on my archers right now!

Been working on these guys throughout the day. Really really don't like how the ends of the arrows came out but otherwise I had fun painting them. Imagine that! Fun with WoMT. :-D

Nice minis draked and good job with the hirst tower. As for your Warriors of Minas Tirith, might I suggest using some Badab Black wash on their armour. It will help to shade them and is really easy to use.

I just applied a watered down Chaos Black wash to them, we shall see if it helps! Thanks!

With the wash they seem a bit darker.

An overview of what's up. In the center you can see the Cave Troll I'll have to paint up in 7 days for the September Painting Challenge.

Primed Gimli today, I'll start him tonight I hope!

I'd say the black wash has done its job well on the KoMT - they look great! Good luck with Gimli, of all the fellowship I find him the hardest to get right. The plastic Cave troll is a really good miniature to paint, I enjoyed every second of it! Keep us updated with your progress. :)

Thanks to all!

I just printed that! That has been the one on my mind this past week. I really love the natural look he achieved.

I had hoped to start on Gimli tonight...but finishing him works too! This was the most fun I've ever had painting a miniature! The detail on the sculpt is superb and the ability to paint with vibrant colors was great!
Not so sure why he looks shiny in the photos...

and as Drum says, C&C are welcome!
