Well, clearly someone's getting onto the forums and someone's arguing about things. So there may be a way.

It may be that you need to sign in with a WB forum account and then set yourself up on the War in the North forum.

It seems rather convoluted and poorly mentioned if you do have to register with Warner Brothers and then with the War in the Ring... But,t here has to be a way as, as you said, people are on there!

emperor_thompson: I know it was and I wasn't so much worrying as wondering why I couldn;t get onto the website and if they'd actually revealed anything more of waht they've done (most games have a sneaky preview every month or two to hold interest).

Well, after much mooching about on the WB webpage, I tried to sign up with the WB network and...

...and error has occurred.

Which has to be the most useless error message ever. So until the War in the North message board is fixed, I give up. :D

They're starting to show some heroes now in their newest trailer. Besides Gandalf & Elrond, they also have Elladan & Elrohir and Radagast. http://www.gamespot.com/showcases/LOTR? ... Pid=991492

I actually...don't think this game looks very good at all. There's just something about it that doesn't sit right with me. It doesn't feel like the Lord of the Rings to me. I don't know...does anyone feel the same way?

Besides that, I just don't think it looks like a very good game, and I'm very much thinking I will pass.

Feels like Lotr to me, even though there are quite a few things that I don't like, it still looks good enough for me to consider picking it up.

I hope it's not the violence that turns you off from it not being a Lotr feel. Because it is about time there's a dark version of the series, especially after Aragorn's Quest which I didn't even bother with.

Im not even going to bother buying it anymore. It'll be a waste of space just like Conquest was.

You can create only theories...
Sometimes we buy something and we are wishing the game was never created...
Sometimes we don't by soemthign that could give us a lot of fun...
After all we can critize with full of our mind when we have passed the experience in action...

I know exactly what you are saying. There have been many games like that for me. I just don't want to be disappointed by the game. I have been trying VERY hard to get my self around to like it but I cant. All the changes they've made barely makes it an RPG. Its more of a hack and slash game with minimal RP elements. You cant even name your Character now! All of them are preset! There would have to be something game changing for me to want to play it.

It's true it's more like an action adventure game where you upgrade your heroes as you progress rather than an RPG. But I like action adventure hack & slash games anyways, like the old ones for PS2 of TTT & RotK.

Conquest was a bit of a let down with so much potential. Online was fun for me while it lasted but they made their mages too overpowering and the warrior class weak.

Anyway, the mage in this game from what I've seen in the trailers doesn't wow me that much. She shoots her staff like a semi-automatic rifle with bolts coming out. Also there's this sort of white bubble that I think she produces that acts as some kind of shield, much like Conquest, and it looks ugly. But overall I think the game is looking great. Combat might look a bit stiff in the gameplay trailers, but easy to overlook when you have heads & limbs flying off every which way. I have faith in Snowblind so I think I might make this a day 1 purchase. Or maybe, I might wait for reviews.

Too bad White Council was never made, it became White Cancelled... haha... aahh.. crappy joke. :)

Also i don't like much magic or dwaves with ballistas i believe the game should be good...

Nice joke and i know what you mean about the magic staff, did you see any gameplay of the new harry potter game? It is pretty much gears of war but with spells instead of guns, and way less testosterone :P

Not a big Harry Potter fan, so I'm not keeping track of that. This November it's all War in the North, Uncharted 3, & Skyrim. I have no more budget for miniatures this fall.

Sorry for necromancy but i thought i should just post this.

Elladan and Elrohir have been confirmed as characters in the game, apparently Arwen will be in the game too! However, I am worried that the game developers might just think "Hey these guys are twins, lets make them a comedy duo"

They didn't look like a comedy duo in that trailer, unless you consider Elladan getting zapped by that forcefield door to be slapstick comedy...

I'm hoping that they would let you control other characters for a short duration in the story, most unlikely, or at least have them as npc's for a duration of a mission. Instead of the twins just standing there feeling off a door and appearing in cinematics.
