I agree with hellfury, This thread seems a bit bias. I like SBG better though just my opinion.

Well yes, thats the whole idea of the thread, it IS asking for YOUR opinion and will naturally be biased to whatever system gets more votes.

Thanks hithero! :yay:

I voted WotR.For one simple reason, when I play it I have fun.I enjoy myself. Thats a novel idea.I've just never liked playing SBG,I'm sure its fun to some people, but not me.WotR seems to flow nicely, and of course the ability to play large games is always welcomed.

I personally prefer SBG but I think that is probably because SBG has had a lot more time to develop its rules rather than WotR still is new and thus has much more un-balanced rules.

I know that Battle companies use the rules for SBG..
But is there anyone that likes to play Battle companies instead of a normal skirmish?

To each their own.I enjoy small battles also, but I also enjoy the abiltiy to play large games.

@imrail I love Battle Companies! And would much rather play with them than a normal points match/scenario of SBG

Played SBG for 6 years, never played WOTR, only one option I can choose. I really enjoy Battle Companies aswell.

I haven't been fortunate enough to try out WotR, yet, so I voted for SBG. I guess it's silly to say that I "prefer" it to something I've never had the opportunity to play, though.

Personally, I can definitely see the merits of both. I do enjoy a good skirmish, and it's definitely fun and feels more personalized to be in command of a small group of warriors. However, what I've found is that because of this our group has moved further and further away from playing "battles" and instead run specialized scenarios in which we pit a few of our favorite characters against various opposing lackeys.

We did play out much larger battles using SBG in the past, and they were quite fun. They were also day-long endeavors. For that reason, the ability to throw a real army on the table and fight it out in a reasonable amount of time, and with much less hassle than moving every little soldier, has a strong appeal. I need the armies and the opponents (not to mention the rules...) before I can do it, but I would very much like to get started on WotR as well.
