18 of the original 33 holes are still there, the facards etc have been taken away but you can still see the doors and windows etc. Bilbo's hole was big enough for you to actualy go inside and look out the door and windows.

It has been a very popular tourist attraction (and still is) since the end of filming the original trilogy.

dude, they had a ruin whole middle earth buildings:( government decisions:(. for example: the city of edoras they had to remove it within some months, cos of the original landscape etc etc. they could have make alot of money with that attractions
