In all cases, sources on many other boards (who seem to be more in the know than me), indicate the release is for May - that should translate into sneak-peaks, advanced orders, or something in the next couple of weeks.

GW seem to be keeping any pics firmly under wraps - in April WD there's no sneak peaks at all - the last page just has a reprint of last year's April WD WOTR release cover (Aragorn and Rohirrim)...

It just seems like all of the named Uruk characters are of the scout variety.

In GW's defense, the closest thing to a named Uruk Hai at Helm's Deep is that bellowing guy in the movie. The way people have been complaining about non-canon heroes and units, GW may feel it is not worth their costs to add another one to an already developed force.

Maybe this is just the naïve new player in me, but I'm quite optimistic. This many unrelated and unannounced new sets means that more are in the works! Since everyone seems to be mentioning one set they want done in plastic, I'll add my own: high elves.

So... the new Swan Knights are giants, then? :P
Did you say that you saw the new models during assembly? Am I correct to assume that they were unpainted, then? Also, what did their shields look like; were they the same as before? Did they look anything like this:

If so, I think that the above image can be confirmed to be involved with the new Dol Amroth release. Either the captain, or Imrahil. I'm really hoping it's Imrahil, though I highly doubt it. More likely that one's a Numenorean. (but that's great news, too!)

That model is more than likely going to be a part of the battle hosts release, IMO ;)

I like it^^ especially the morgul-knights
The positive thing about the Dol-Amroth is that they don't have the huge-ass helmets anymore but still go along with the previous models. Greato! Thanks fo the link!

(Could it be, that this if from a new white dwarf?)

I personally like the Morgul Knights really much. I have 5 metal ones and I will certainly get the plastic ones, too!

Having had a moment to calmly reflect upon the miniatures now, my initial reaction still stands, they're amazing miniatures. :)

I really love the Morgul Knights, they looks so much bette then the old metal ones. I can't help but think how amazing they would look charging across my planned Mordor board, with the Minas Tirith Witch-King miniature leading the way. I simply must get these! :)

The new Swan Knights are also far better then the old metal ones. They look much more elegant now. It's also interesting to note that they kit appears to come with the option for a hornblower, meaning it has all of the command options in it. A really wonderful move by GW, as it seems all of the new LoTR kits seem to be heading in the direction of multi-part plastics. Great news!

Once again, these models are fantastic! I simply must have the Morgul Knights for my Mordor army, and these Swan Knights are making me seriously consider starting a Fiefdoms army. Shaping up to be a great release! 8)

Not bad.

Probably won't get any (I rather prefer the Mithril miniatures versions, and those are metal) but it rather does bring up the question:

Those look ok. Those look like they'd fit with the other Gondor figures.

So why didn't they just do that in the first place?

I am not committed one way or the other yet - I do think these look better BUT I have to see them in the flesh (that means a trip to GW Belfast..) to make a decision. Thanks for the pics!

Alright, so I found some more news on the May Release on TLA, originally from HDR.

mac wrote:
Also got this of http://hdr-tabletop.de/index.php

The following news are waiting for us in May:

- The War of the Ring: Hosts ??,?? Euro
- Knights of Dol Amroth (plastic) 26.00 Euro
- Morgul Knights (plastic) 26.00 Euro
- Ruins of Osgiliath Ruins kit (plastic) 22.50 Euro
- Mauhúr (blister) 11,50 Euro
- Brand Mauhúr Schatzer Command (blister) 12,50 Euro
- Duinhir (blister) 11,50 Euro
- Protect the Schwarzgrundtals Command (blister) 12,50 Euro
- The Dwimmerlaik (blister) 22,50 Euro
- Faramir, Captain of Ithilien (blister) 12,50 Euro

All data without guarantee.

There's a few things which must not have gone through Google translate very well, so if anyone could help with that it would be much appreaciated. Thanks to mac on TLA for pointing this out. I'm excited about a new Faramir, sounds like he might get a stat-boost similar to Eomer! :D

Edit: Someone on TLA suggested that the, "Protect the Schwarzgrundtals" is the Blackroot Vale Archers. Sounds like as good a guess as any.

Sorry, I should have posted this list, too. My fault.

Schwarzgrundtal means Blackroot Vale.

At a guess the manhur command should be manhur's mauraders command. (possesive nouns (no 's) and all that)

Thanks for the confirmation on that, SkYlaX. :)

Now that I've though about it, I'd bet that the mysterious miniature in the picture further up this page is the new Faramir.

I have a funny feeling that it is too, though I sure hope not. We already have a Faramir in heavy armour figure on horseback, and it actually looks like the Faramir we've see in the films. Granted, it could represent Faramir after the War of the Ring (why, I don't know), but since the films show him in the same armour, just with a cloak, I'm not sure about that.

Personally I hope the new Faramir is him in ranger gear on horseback. We've been asking for the model for years  Only side affect is that it, just like the new Eomer and Saruman on horseback, won't bear any facial resemblance to the actor :-X

Cheers,
Wolfy
