It was obtained by sparing someone's life.
It glows red in the sunlight
It was lost by hatred.

There were several people who put the One Ring in their finger. Name two who did not turn invisible by doing so.

Sauron and Tom Bombadil are right. Deagol did take the ring in his hand, but did not put it in his finger.

Joansean, your turn.

Name the troops from the fiefdoms that came to aid Minas Tirith, in exact numbers (where given) and their leaders (where stated).

I could go to the end of the siege of gondor and transscribe it, but i'll try to do this from memory...

*Hirluin brought a few hundred archers clad in green from Morthond(?) Vale
*Golasgil leads a small band of hillmen
*Forlong the Fat came from Lossarnach with somewehere around 300
*Angbor the Fearless with slightly fewer than Forlong
*Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth with close to 1,000 Knights of the Silver Swan

I'll look it up, but there's my try

-Hirluin, from Pinnath Gelin, and three hundred green-clad men;
-Five hundred archers from Blackroot vale, led by Duinhir and his sons;
-Three hundred from Ringlo Vale led by the lord's son, Dervorin, on foot.
-Some hillmen from lamedon with no leader;
-Forlong and his men, two hundred;
-Golasgil with hunters, village-men and herders, poorly armed, except for Golasgil's own household.
-And Prince Imrahil with his knights, followed by Seven hundred of the men at arms.

Phew! *wipes the sweat from his forehead*

I refuse to allow this thread to die, so I have a question to ask, if neither the answerer or questioner from the previous one show up.

Give 2 of Beregond's lines from the film version of RotK.

I believe it is something along the lines of, "Long has Lord Denethor forseen this doom." I'm not sure if that's all though, as I'm just recalling from memory here. :)

Close enough, you're only out by a word or two.
But I'm still looking for one more. :wink:

("It is as the Lord Denethor predicted! Long has he forseen this doom." Isn't he so much whinier in the films?)
