Adding to the father/son catagory, you could include daughters as well, (arwen and eowyn).

Great responses guys!

@General Ellesar - That's a good one and will definitely find its way into the polls.

@Erunion - That would work a lot better than a christmas themed one actually as christmas would require a fair amount of conversion.

About the December Special Challenge (which will be the next one based on my quarterly special challenges plan)... I was thinking of not having a poll for this one as having it as a set 'Winter' theme (as suggested by Jonathan) seems the right thing to do giving that it's the festive season and all. Is everyone okay with this or would you rather see polls to decide the category still?

Winter sounds cool to me!
As for the father/son idea, simply brilliant! Im sure itll show up down the road! Good thinking General Ellesar.
Faramir and Denathor are on my "To Buy" list!

If the father/son category does find its way into a challenge, I'll definitely be doing Pippin and Paladin.

That is a good choice! Just wish I still had either of them left to paint. :)

Ok with me. :)

I'm glad my Father-Son idea is popular; perhaps it could be a possibility for March.

It most certainly can. My plan for special challenges was to have a vote the month before as we always do, but they will only have 3 options instead (due to having more broad possibilities). The two that do not win the vote will roll onto the next special challenge voting (June would be the next after March), with one extra category replacing the one that won previously.

I figure this way we can allow everybodies suggestions to make it into a challenge at some point. Plus it means if one wins over another great idea, the other good ideas are not just dismissed and forgotten about.

Somebody may have already suggested this idea (and I am too lazy to read all the posts carefully), but how about a banner bearer challenge? Banner bearer could be from any race, foot or mounted, and people could also submit their own banners as conversions etc. I think it would be great to see a whole bunch of parading banner bearers from different races.

I like that idea. My local GW had a banner bearer painting competition a few years back and it was interesting to see the various results.

I have a pretty cool idea for an orc banner that I wanna try out. :)

With the banner idea you could see all sorts of cool free-hand as well. Good idea.
