hey all, just played a game of Wotr yesterday, elves vs. gondor.

My opponent had a formation of 3 Ranger companies, with Radagast in them. He said that because of Radagast's special power, Birdsight, he is able to shoot a three of his companies, meaning 24 attacks without bonus. His formation was 3 companies DEEP, not 3 companies wide.

Is this right?

It isn't, the rule only applies to Radagast for his spells. It does not apply to his formation.

It doesn't even say anything about shooting, period, does it? Just his spells and charging...?

so you guys are saying that the formation can see the whole board but the whole formation is not allowed to shoot like I said?

yes, the special only applies to the epic hero who is only joining the company on a tempery basis (they can move etc.) so there for only his spells/epics have the rule that applies to him. it would say "radagast AND HIS FORMATION may see and shoot aswell as cast spells even if the target formation is out of sight" whilst it only actualy refers to radagast.

hope this helps :-D

the main thing I'm talking about and my question is about, A couple of games ago, when I played the same guy and the same force, Gondor. He had a 6 company formation of Rangers with Radagast in them. When the shooting phase came and it was that formation's turn, he said that all 6 companies get to shoot, it was a 2 wide by 3 deep formation, so then he had over 42 Shots, not including bonuses!!!

is this right??? That's my main question, because I could not find in the rulebook that rule at all.

thanks

As per what hobbitsrule22 said the answer is no its not right since it does NOT grant his formation the ability to shoot if the enemy is not with the arc of sight it only applies to ragadast himself.
His rule specifically states that he (as in Ragadast) does not need arc of sight and does not say anything about his formation. THis in contrast with Epic Tranquility where it specifically states that there is an affect on his FORMATION. Just need to read the rules carefully. :)

We are saying that only Radagast gets the LOS benifit - not the whole formation.
