thanks! there are some close ups of my army on the 'help with miniature figures' 'galadhrim and other elf pics' thread. anyway, enough of my models, lets see everyone elses! works in progress would also be good to see. its just that i noticed not many people had posted pictures of their whole armies. |

btw, although i went for a bright colour scheme, i realised just how bright they look in the photo! in real life they are a shade darker, its just that i used flash and a lot of lighting |

One question, what is the rock with the shield and bow leaning against it? i use it as an objective marker. its pretty random, but i made 3 from all the spare parts from the galadhrim warriors/knights sprue. however, it could just as easily be an elf in an elven cloak lol! |

@agincourt777:that is an awesome looking army i'm building up a galadhrim army too, and i'm debating on whether to add an extra box of warriors and captain or a box of knights and captain. have you played any games with that army? are the knights any good? |

Here is the Mordor army of a fellow club member: Too many pictures too hijack this thread, but you can see the bigger version as well as unit by unit pics of it here. Check out his conversions of Gothmog and Kârdush, as well as the epic base for Burdhur. This guy is a painting machine! My own Isengard army sadly is stalled, with just half of it done. One day, one day... |

wow, just checked the link... they are incredibly well painted! Quote: i'm debating on whether to add an extra box of warriors and captain or a box of knights and captain. have you played any games with that army? are the knights any good?
personally i would go with the knights, since they have incredible stats (high F and mounted archers get 6 shots) and look awesome! unfortunatley, in games i have played the only opponent they have fought against is a dragon. sniff. however, they have the potential to do some serious damage to infantry. |

Hi, I've finally finished off 1000 points of Easterlings and having previously seen this thread thought I'd add to it. Amdur Khamul 6 companies of swordsman lead by a Captain, with a banner. 3 companies of pikemen lead by a Captain, with a banner. 4 companies of archers, lead by a War Priest. Cheers Scott |

wow! you revived my old thread which i had completely forgotten about. that army is VERY impressive, I bet it took a while to paint! nothing beats a fully painted army in fully painted movement trays (with command groups). if you haven't done already and are prepared to pay lots of money, you should get some cataphracts. |

Hi agincourt777, Yes, I've 6 cataphracts, still in their box... I've not started them, too scared to do them in case I make a mistake and I don't want to rush them! I'm planning to get 6 more and I want to do three conversions... Amdur on Horseback, a Captian and a banner bearer. I've got a Dragon Knight and and Standard from the box in which the war priest came in, and will get another Amdur, but then it's a case what to chop off where and I don't want to have to fork out for a new set of miniatures should I get it wrong. Plastic Haradrim, with no conversions, seem like a much easier/cheaper option! Thanks for the comments. Cheers Scott |

All armies look great! I've got a lot of painting up to do on my 1,000 points Rivendell but I might try and post it when I'm done. |

My army pics are in my gallery, here's a link: http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/album_ ... er_id=5901 I'm about to put a 1,000 point Rohan army together, that includes some models not pictured above (finished my fourth company of Royal Guard today!), so I'll post a pic later this week with any luck. |

Thanks for all the kind words, guys, I appreciate them! The Stone Giant is from Majestic Bear and required only assembly and painting form me: http://www.majesticbear.net/products/2 Really, it's for my Misty Mountains army, but once I painted it I added it to the first army I could in order to play it! |

What are some tips to taking good pics of large armies? I can do fine with models a few inches from each other, but once the depth starts getting as large as a second Company they just don't look as sharp. The most luck I've been having so far has been backing up more and more so that the relative distance from my camera to my front models and my camera to my rear models is minimized, but this is also not often a very convenient position. Am I not considering something or is distance really the best way to keep the picture sharp and then just zoom it in during post production? advTHANKSance! |

Try keeping your f-stop high, it will let you keep more of the picture/your army sharp as it will keep a larger field of view sharp. hope that helps |
