How useful do you think having mounted versions of these two would be? Would Grima become more useful if he could move into cavalry companies as well as infantry ones? Cheers. |

Well, around here we just place models that do not have a mounted version is a cavalry slot to show that they are in the unit. If there is no mounted version available what else are you going to do? As far as moving grima specifically, there is some debate over whether he can or not. Epic hero movement rules state that you move them from one friendly formation to another. Obviously grima isnt assigned to friendly formations so the letter of the rules makes moving him an iffy situation. Its definitely something that needs to be discussed prior to playing a game how the opponent feels about him moving from one enemy unit to another. |

If you are looking for a mounted version of grima or saruman, ukfreddybear has already posted an article on how to convert the duo so that they can have mounts. It can be found in the conversions area of articles. I hope this helps. Having Grima mounted would be very useful in war of the ring. Then he could move about spreading his doom and gloom everywhere. I would post the link but I am using a DSi to write this so I don't have a copy and paste fuction. (as far as I know.):( |

In the SBG I would only ever take them mounted unless the scenario prevented it. They are so much more effective. I don't see how WotR would be any different. It gives you a lot more freedom. |

Saruman is very good in a calvary formation with the combination of dark fury and scatter shield on a formation and then charge it with Saruman and wargs you should inflict some serious damage. About grima in a calvary formation It can be useful but it is not better as in a infantry formation. hope this helps PS: Are you going to collect a isengard army? With all your questions |

Thanks very much for the advice guys! @ukfreddybear - It was actually your article that made me consider making mounted versions of these two and now I think I will! hero of gondor wrote: PS: Are you going to collect a isengard army? With all your questions
I am already collecting an Isengard Army but have very little of it painted. That's why I'm doing the Fortress of Isengard in TO9G next year. |

I suppose I need to just go ahead and convert these guys. I don't think GW is ever going to get around to putting these out. Thankfully, I'll have Dave's article to help me when I do! |
