I'm pretty sure you will be informed of the result, either way.

There will always be at least a couple of days gap as the staff has to check and discuss the entry and we are all in different timezones and that. Just be patient. If you feel that its taking way too long, just PM the staff.

I understand, I'm not trying to bug anyone - I think I tried to register about a week ago. I was going to wait another week before I tried to PM anyone, I was just curious about if I should be looking for a message either way.

Thanks.

I got a few messages asking to clarify a couple of topics of the rules that seem to be a bit less clear for a few members. So here it goes:

1. If you enter a Beginner category, you cannot enter any Open categories.
Either you enter Beginner or Open. You can't enter both, even if (for instance) you are entering with a single mini in one and a terrain piece for the other it wont be accepted.
The Mastercraftsman special category is the exception to this rule, and is open to all, beginner and experienced alike.

2. You cannot enter a piece in a category wich was already entered for another category in this very same season. For instance, imagine that you sculpted a mini and entered it in the Sculpt/Conversion category... you cannot enter it also to the Single mini category. You need to decide in wich one you have more chances and skip the other (or just use another mini for that one). This applies to all the categories. Entries must be unique and not used in more than one category in the same season.

3. You can use all the space of the file (1024 x 800 pixels) to showcase your mini. WiP shots might be asked in a later stage but you don't have to, necessarilly, post them in the file. So, take a few wip shots and store them in a safe place, as we might ask for them to validate your entries.

4. You can post a picture of a painted sculpt/conversion if you want but you must show the green of the model (primed in white or green is fine too - avoid dark colours as they are a pain to see any details).

ok question:
Is the picture you send in with the beginner registration used as you actual entry or is it used just to judge you skill level?

Due to the recent site hacking and software upgrades, the Awards will have to be re-schedulled.

All the rules are to be kept, only the deadline to submit the entries will have to be changed. It will depend on how quick Daggy can fix the whole gallery and competition systems, so we can't really give a date at this moment.

This means that everyone will possibly have a couple of extra weeks to finish their works. The new deadline will be announced as soon as we have more information.

Thanks for understanding.

Woo Hoo :D (not about the hacking, about the extra time)
I might actually start that extra project I was putting off due to lack of time.

Will we have to resubmit our entries when the Awards restart?

Cheers

Not 100% sure of that one Pinky, it depends on whether I can import all the old gallery info across to the new album software (the competitions were just a glorified gallery).

Thanks Alan,

Just one small thing with the competition entries, it would be good if there was an area to write a small comment about your entry, similar to the galleries, so that you could explain the entry a bit, e.g. with conversions so you can describe what you've done or dioramas so you can explain the scene. Not sure if it's possible without giving away too much of who the entrant is but just an idea.

There will be a few changes to the comp software this time around. One change will be that you won't be able to see other entries until the voting period starts.

I like the comment idea. It probably should be limited to a single paragraph or something. Thanks for the suggestion.

That's a better idea. It will encourage more entries. I been put off entering painted minis previously because I've seen some of the early submitted entries, and thought to myself I can't compete with that so I won't bother.

This year's awards have been postponed Shadowcat, while we sort out the new site design.
