Hello I am new to this site. I wanted to share my Minas Tirith that I made. It is not the prettiest thing in the world, but I made it for gaming. I provided the construction of link and the Battle of Pelennor Fields as well.

Hi, I've moved this to a different forum, but you'll need to edit your post to fix the image links.

I am going to make an assumption. One post so the links won't work until darclegion makes a few more post.

The next assumption is I know who darclegion is'

Link to Pelenor http://tidesofwargaming.blogspot.com/20 ... ch-15.html

Link to construction http://tidesofwargaming.blogspot.com/20 ... irith.html

Welcome Tom

I like Minas Tirith on the grand scale :) So much work goes into something like that.

I loved the epic scale of your battle of the Pelennor fields. Looking at the photos your table seems quite big in both dimensions - how did you solve the challenge of reaching the miniatures at the very center of the board?

I'd also love to hear more about your house rules. Your miniatures seem to be mostly on movement trays, so I assume you use War of the Ring -type rules for them. How did you handle siege towers and ensuing fights on the city walls? This combination of War of the Ring / Strategy Battle Game rules with siege ladders / towers is something we haven't yet solved for our campaign, but will need to do that before we play Helm's Deep and Pelennor Fields ourselves.

Hi! Thanks to all!!!!
As far as siege rules I used my own house rules combined with some rules from the Siege and Conquest rules from Warhammer.
Most of the towers did not make it to the wall before the Mordor army was routed. It was my first game at a Epic sized battle of that nature. I did use the WOTR epic battle rules to play the game, keep in my it was a solo game so I was activating a unit at a time on each side, etc...to put tactics in the game. It was fun, some people cant play solo games and have fun, but that is a lot of fun for myself. I do not really have much of a choice. The game took me several days, I think about 2 weekends. The weekdays are tough for me to game with two daughters.

My table is 12' x 16' shaped almost like a "U". There is about 18" of dead space, but I use a yard stick to push units across the table. I use movement trays in large battles. Most of my battles I play are all epic. I will someday play smaller games in the house on the kitchen table, but have not done so yet.

I made majority of my movement trays, but I also use the WH trays, depending on how many models I have on the table.

It took about 7 weeks roughly to make, and I worked on it for at least 3 hours a night and all day long on the weekends. I wished it would have turned out better, but it was my very first time at making anything. But it is good enough to game with. Plus it gave me a reason to buy 3 sets of the GW Minas Tirith walls. I made a template out of the battlements, but I raised the walls about 2 inches.

The whole castle is amazingly strong.

As far as the links, I couldnt figure out which code to use for the url, so I used Img in hopes of it working. Which code do I use, maybe I am being stupid.

Funnily enough, the url code is required. The button to the right of the img :)
I fixed your initial post for you.

yea, I figured it out, but that URL button was not there the first few times, oddly, because I was looking for it.

Love the model. Minas Tirith is my second favorite castle all time ( Helms Deep first obviously!) Did you construct the citadel at the top? If not here did you come by it? Love the tree and fountain as well
