Well, I've been a GW purist for 8 years, never touched a miniature from another company in my life, and never thought I would.
Finally, GW's continued ignorance on the price front has got to me. Anyone who still believes their prices are reasonable, take a look at what other companies are offering, you will be shocked at what you are missing out on.
Which brings me to my next venture...Hail Caesar.
Now I understand this game may not be for everyone, especially those with little historical interest, but I played a demo game about a week ago and I can say that the game mechanics are ridiculously simple and encourage tactics unlike anything else i've played. I picked up the rulebook (full colour with 4 battle reports for £30), and borrowed the army list book off someone at my flgs.
Does anyone else play this game and wants to give me some advice on how to start?
I originally wanted to do Sarmatians, but have later changed my mind to something I am more familiar with, and because I do Ancient History at college, and so I would like to compose an army to represent Brasidas' band of mercenaries that got him so far in the Peloponessian War.
Take a look at the website and miniatures (don't worry i don't work for them or anything
).
