Games Workshop's newest game:



Warhammer Historical has released a new set of rules that allows gamers to recreate aerial combat on the Western front of World War I. The book is soft-cover, full color, and 80 pages. The game is meant to be played with 1/72 scale miniatures, though it can adapt to other scales readily. It's available now for 18 pounds for anyone who's interested. I find the planes in that era fascinating; its tempting, but likely, for now, I'll pass. Still thought I'd pass it along, though.

In all honesty, Wings of War (now Wings of Glory) is the best WW1 airplane game out there. Beautiful pre-painted planes, terrific and simple game mechanics. You won't be disappointed.

Yes, it seems to me that Games Workshop is simply trying to cash in on Wings of War's popularity and genre, but I figured a new rulebook was at least worth mentioning.

I too was tempted, it looks like a really nice book. The rules are based on Aeronautica Imperialis, though, and having owned it, I wasn't interested. AI is simply clunky!

Ah! I was wondering what Games Workshop had based the rules on. They usually don't invent completely new rules for their Warhammer Historical games.
