A friend of mine wants to start playing battlefleet gothic and I was wondering if anyone here has played it. If so, I would like to know what your opinions on it are.

i think it is a great game rules wise, models wise, as well as cost wise.

rules are free for down load from the GW: Specialist website, as are all the fleet lists.

plastic models are limited to imperial and chaos fleet; the rest are metal except resin ones from forgeworld. all the models, metal or plastic, are all reasonably detailed and surprisingly easy to paint.

cost wise, 17US$ will get you 350-450 worth of plastic cruisers. as most games are anywhere from 500 pts to 200 pts you can see it is reasonably priced. the metal models are more expensive at anywhere from 0.5 US$ per point to 1.25 US$ per point.
