Nope, it's not produced by Games Workshop, it's produced by a company called Chaosium, which is a d-percentile based roleplaying game system based on the works of an American horror author named H.P Lovecraft. Wizards of the Coast also made their own adaptation of the game in their trademark d20 system. Be warned however: if you are not familiar with H.P. Lovecraft's horror stories dealing with creatures of terrifying oppressive might dealing with themes of humanities ultimate insignificance, this may not be for you. In Call of Cthulhu, your characters will not rise to become champions of freedom and heroics like in other role-playing games. In Call of Cthulhu, your characters will either die horrible gruesome deaths or go completely insane, committed to the local asylum. The last time I played, my character suffered total insanity and then was killed by being morphed into a human book stand. It's a really fun game but try it at your own risk Cheers, Wolfy |

Here, let me help: The newest edition of the original system ^ That one requires each player to have a 100 sided dice (or 2 ten sided ones). The d20 version ^ that one is d20 based, so requires the standard d20 dice set (1d4, 4d6, 1d8, 2d10, 1d12, and 1d20). Also included are rules for incorporating the Cthulhu Mythos into your Dungeons and Dragons games, which make for entertaining crossovers and some very scary dungeons Cheers, Wolfy |

Loved CoC. Played and GMed it many times. Forces players not to rely solely on force to find their way through a scenerio as well, since most of the creatures they are up against can cause insanity on sight Got the original box set somewhere but the 20th Century sourcebook is also brilliant. I'd recommend reading some of H.P. Lovecraft's stories if you ever want to play or run it though. |
