For the big US convention in a week, Historicon, a friend and I are building a battlefield for Stones River game we are running. I've taken a lot of pictures during the build, to many to post, but I'll try and hit the highlights here.

Sorry for the late follow-up. I was so busy building the table that I didn't get a lot of posting done.

Here's a quick picture walk through.

Image
Flocking the wood sections

Image
Going from zero to about 130 Winter trees in 2 days, thank god they are for 15mm. We'd go broke at SBG scale.

Image
Not all the flock stuck, will have to go back and fix some wooded areas.

Image
Now the grassy or open areas get flocked

Image
All the roads/tracks/woods and grass down. I soaked the whole thing with White glue to really make sure it stays in place. You can see some areas look milky, that's the glue.

Image
Creating Dams on the edges of the boards to pour the Woodland Scenics Realistic Water.

Image
First pour done.

Image
Here's the railroad bridge and a destroyed foot bridge.

That's pretty much the build. I did a 2nd pour of the waters, you need to build up layers and then the next day we headed for the convention. I have pics of the game with the fully dressed table I'll post next.

Looking great. Could you put a figure next to the river to get an idea of how big it is?

Here are shots of the completed battle board at the convention. Sorry Sticky, I didn't get a chance to snap a pic of the figures next to the bridge. Boards are in storage now for the immediate future. If it helps, the figures are 15mm and 3 of them are on a base an inch wide. About as wide as the railroad bridge.
