Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and pretty new to this painting / gaming lark.
I thought I'd show you guys the harad army I'm working on at the moment and keep a little log of things as they progress.
So far I've just got my mumak done and I'm now working on some raiders

Here we go then...

My mumak

Now I'm on with some raiders...

Hopefully you can all see the images (they certainly appear in preview)

More to follow :-D

Great work on the Mumak, the rigging looks excellent, i am going to have to do that to mine.

Also the shading on the horse is first class

Welcome to the Forum, look forward to seeing more of your work

Thanks Harfoot
I'm really happy with how the rigging turned out and now when I see a mumak without any they look a bit bare.
Other mods I did are the tusk spikes
Image

I added some custom arrows about the place:
In mumak and howdah
Image Image Image

one in the Rohan chap on the base

and then the archers have strings on the their bows too

That horse is looking really good. The strings on the bows are always a good detail to have in your army!

Pretty sure it's going to look awesome on the field.

I really love the paint job and the overall coloring on your horse - would you share the colors that you used to paint him ? I've yet to paint any horses myself, but I have close to 30 Rohan Riders and mounted Heroes next up on my table and I'm looking for ideas for color schemes and techniques...

That looks one mean and wonderful Mumak, a great achievement.
I remember doing mine and these are no quick fix figures, surprisingly lots of detail in the Howdah but you have done it justice.

Thank you all for the amazing compliments, it's really appreciated.

With regards the horse, I'm still very much finding my way myself and it's really a trial and error thing.
Ja33 you asked for the colours... well it was
* white primer
* Steel legion drab
* Tallarn sand
* Karak stone
* Seraphim sepia wash

Here's a pic of that horse finished
Image

and some progress on a few of the others in this batch. Gone for different colours to the first to mix it up a bit

weirdly, despite using a different recipe for the last two horses from the one I used before... all three seem to have come out about the same... ah well, nevermnd... you guys seem to think the first one was good so I wont complain too much :D

Lovely horses, turned out great.
The last picture, the right hand one. Give it a thin chestnut glaze all over, that will alter the appearance.

You could add a litle bleached bone to the horse colour and take the colour a stage lighter changing the overall finish quite a bit. Will make it look like a Palamino. Looking great so far.
